My Statement of Faith
Jehovah God is one God in three persons (Elohim) [Genesis 1:1-2,26; John 1:1-2,14] known as the Holy Trinity: God the Father, Jesus Christ His one and only begotten Son [John 3:16], and the Holy Spirit. God is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient and sovereign. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and conceived by the Holy Spirit [Luke 1:26-35; Matthew 1:18] fully God and fully man [John 5:18; Philippians 2:6-7].
Salvation into eternal life is only through Jesus Christ [John 14:6] as a result of His death, burial and resurrection on the 3rd day [Philippians 2:8; Matthew 28:1-7; Luke 24:1-10,46] thereby defeating Satan [Genesis 3:15; Philippians 2:9-11] and atoning for our sins [John 3:16; Romans 5:8, 10:9]. Christ has now ascended to be at the right hand of the Father [Acts 2:33] serving as our mediator [Galatians 3:19-20; 1 Timothy 2:3-6]. Salvation is a free gift of unmerited grace through faith in Jesus Christ [Ephesians 2:8-9]. Jesus’ death also fulfilled the Law of Moses [Matthew 5:17]; consequently, Christians are free from this bondage [Galatians 3:10-25].
If we believe the aforementioned and acknowledge the fact that we are sinners in need of a savior [Romans 3:23, 5:12, 6:23], repent of our sins [Luke 13:5; Matthew 3:2], and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior we will gain eternal life [Romans 10:9,13]. At the point of salvation the Holy Spirit indwells each and every believer [Romans 5:1-2,5] identifying each one as a Christian who becomes a new creature [2 Corinthians 5:17]. Christians are a Royal Priesthood [1 Peter 2:9] with the confidence to enter the Most Holy Place [Mark 15:37-38] to petition the Father by prayer [Hebrews 10:19-22] in the Name — i.e., in the character — of Jesus Christ His Son as revealed through His Word.
The Holy Spirit empowers all believers; and, His indwelling is a seal guaranteeing eternal life [2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13-14]. Evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit is by the convicting of sin and guidance into all Truth [John 16:8-11,13]. He will bring glory to Jesus Christ [John 15:26, 16:14]. The Holy Spirit gives believers spiritual gifts disbursed just as He determines [1 Corinthians 12:7-11; Romans 12:4-8] and intercedes on our behalf [Romans 8:26].
Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh [John 1:1-2,14]. The Holy Bible in its original languages is the Holy Spirit-inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God [Proverbs 30:5; 2 Peter 1:20-21] complete unto itself. The Bible will never be superseded or supplemented by any other teaching [Proverbs 30:6] and nothing should be subtracted from it [Deuteronomy 4:2; Matthew 5:17; Revelation 22:18-19]. Its full counsel provides the way to live a complete Christian life [2 Timothy 3:16-17].
All Christians should have a part in the Great Commission making disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey the teachings contained in His Word [Matthew 28:19-20; Luke 24:47].
Jesus Christ will return again [Matthew 24:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:16] and gather all Christians, first the dead then the living [1 Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17]. Unbelievers will be separated from God and will forever dwell in Hell (Gehenna) [Matthew 13:41-42], while believers will be in God’s presence in Heaven [Matthew 13:43; Daniel 12:3] for all eternity [John 3:15-16, 4:14, 5:24, 6:40, 10:28, 17:2].

You have done a lot work. I did not read all but I do agree with the major doctrines.
I want help churches, who believe this central truth of Salvation only by faith in the crucified and risen Christ, become active in evangelize and disciple the Diverse Ethnic people groups who have come to America to live. The world is restricting traditional missions but people from 190 nations now live in the USA.
These people of other cultures have a loyalty to their homeland and will normally have passion to send the Gospel to their family and friends.
You can be a part of world missions without leaving home.

I listened to Greg Laurie on the radio today and he supported my belief regarding the Great Commission. It’s not just evangelism, it’s discipleship. We should be discipling others, being discipled or most accurately: both.

In this past Tuesday’s Daily Devotional at Charles Stanley’s InTouch website and magazine was Finding a Local Church:
http://www.intouch.org/site/apps/nlnet/content2.aspx?c=dhKHIXPKIuE&b=4312955&ct=5636731
“In some cities, there are church buildings on practically every corner. It would be easy, then, to find a place where Christians can worship, encourage other believers, and reach out to those who don’t know Jesus. But, unfortunately, this is not always the case.
“Many churches preach doctrine that does not align with Scripture. Others are distracted by programs or campaigns and have forgotten their real purpose. Therefore, it’s critical that believers ask the right questions before joining a fellowship. Namely, learn whether the church teaches these six truths:
1) The bible is infallible Divine revelation given to mankind so that individuals can have personal relationship with God [through Jesus].
2) Jesus Christ was born of a virgin.
3) Our Savior was fully human and fully God.
4) After His crucifixion and burial, Jesus was bodily resurrected.
5) Heaven and hell exist.
6) Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus.
“In addition, a fellowship’s message should center around redemption, specifically teaching that man is sinful and separated from God [Rom. 3:23]. Since we all come short of His glory, our penalty is death [Rom. 6:23]. Yet the Father redeemed us through His Son’s shed blood, saving all who receive Jesus as Savior [John 3:16; 1 Peter 1:18-19].
“What we are taught will become our belief system and “filter” for all information and opinions set forth by the world. It is vital to find a church that holds to God’s Word as the final authority, and to reject any teaching that contradicts Scripture.”
I wish to add one more thing. It’s important to note that a given church’s Statement of Beliefs do not always line up with what is taught in the pulpit or practiced in the church. I know of this firsthand.

Lee,
There is another truth I have to add to the above six.
This truth is that Jesus is the only way.
I have found that people in my church do not believe John 14:6,
“I am the way and the truth, and the live. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
A group of people in our church, ( i guess i am moving again), who center themselves on the world mission movements, are showing movies about Buddhism, Islam, and Hinduism. They believe that people in these other faiths have found “their” truth, while we have “our” truth.

Kim,
Sorry you’ll be having to move again.
There’s a big push for ecumenism with doctrine, the Truth, being the loser in the rush for unity. There is only one Truth and it’s found in the Holy Bible — the Word made flesh.

paarsurrey,
Hi again, i remember you from before.
I know you believe the Koran which states “They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him” Sura 4:157
Of course the Bible teaches different.
“Any they crucified him” Matthew 27:35
“And when they had crucified him” Mark 15:24
“and there they crucified him” Luke 23:33
“But when they came to Jesus, and say that he was dead already, they brake not his legs” John 19:33
All four gospels give testimony from the disciples who were eyewitnesses and lived during the time of Jesus are consistant about the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Further teaching comes from the Apostle Paul.
Where as Islam rests on one Arab man who had visions, Christianity is totally different.
The Bible tells of how God selected one man, Abraham to be the father of his chosen people and how through history and mankind Jesus came to save us from our sin.
How does Muhammad save you? He has no saving or redeeming value. We are sinners and Christ came because of our fallen nature.
The Bible teaches that the only way to God the Father is through belief in Jesus Christ. The proof is in the changed lives of those who love and follow Jesus and stay close to the teachings of the Word of God.
Are you being a good Muslim by being peaceful? Your book says
“Fight is gods cause against those who fight you, but do not overstep the limits….Kill them wherever you encounter them and drive them out from they drove you out, for persecution is more serious than killing…Fight them until there is no more persecution and worship is devoted to god (Allah) Sura 2:190-193
Christianity is different we are told to love our enemies and to pray for them. We are to do good to them in spite of their persecution. Matthew 5:44
Acts 4:10-12 tells us
There is no other way to salvation, there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.
So my friend Jesus is the only way…..Blessings to you.

paarsurrey,
Since Jesus did not die on the Cross and he survived; your statement of faith needs revision.
In the introduction to my Statement of Faith I wrote, “I welcome any input or criticism provided you can back up your view with chapter and verse in context.” Yet, you failed to do that. Obviously, you are basing your above statement on teachings in the Koran/Qu’ran; however, this is based on the Holy Bible — the true Word of Jehovah God. Kim pointed out the scripture which states that Jesus Christ DID in fact die on the cross — and, most importantly, HE ROSE AGAIN!

You are a liar for you do not come in ‘peace’ — you come to provoke. As I’ve stated to you on a different article on this very site:
“We do not have a common point of reference as I believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of Jehovah God. I do not believe the Qu’ran. The Bible and Qu’ran are opposed to one another as the Qu’ran denies the Trinity – one of the major tenets of the Christian faith — and refers to Jesus as merely a prophet.”
It is rather curious to me that you didn’t point out the Trinity first in your response above since this is the first thing I mention in my Statement of Faith. Why would that be? Perhaps, it’s because we already covered that on Kim’s Warfare Prayer post which is where I took the quote in the previous paragraph.
I also wrote over there:
“Jesus IS God as part of the Trinity. Muhammad is not in the Bible. Allah is not in the Bible. The True Word of Jehovah God/YHWH is the Holy Bible; so, I do not believe in Allah or Muhammad. I’m sorry; but, until you can see that Jesus is the Messiah, the Savior of the world, the Real Truth. We cannot have a fruitful dialogue.”
This still applies.

Craig Dorsheimer [formerly Lee]
I’ve decided to start blogging using my full name rather than just my middle name. I don’t want even the appearance of trying to be in any way deceptive; and, this is the reason I’ve reached this decision. So, for a time, I plan on using the “[formerly Lee]” tag after my name as a transitionary device until that is dropped altogether leaving only my name.

Hi Craig Lee Dorsheimer!
Does t his mean you have your own blog planned in the near future? I know it would be a good one.

Mary B.,
Thanks for the vote of confidence. But, at this point it would almost seem like going out and starting another church. I mean, gosh, who can keep up with all the blogs out there now?!
As long as Kim’ll have me here I plan on providing articles for her to post. All as the LORD leads, that is.

My hats off to Kim. I don’t know how she or any other blog writers do it.
