The universal religion with its spiritual transformation is not coming; it is here. The Angel of light’s kingdom is gathering together “all men of peace” from “every world religion” “as the embodiment of the emerging Kingdom of God on earth.”* In this emerging interfaith kingdom there is:
“One Truth,” yet many theologies;
“One God,” yet many paths;
“One Church,” yet many expressions; and
“One Divine Life,” yet many ‘little Christs.’

Despite its deceived claims that its message hasn’t changed, today’s Christianity is embracing the teachings of the counterfeit kingdom. As a result, it is being steadily transitioned away from Jesus Christ, the Rock of Offence, to the universal “Christ” who broadly accepts people within all religions/faiths. Its purposeful pursuit of unity with the world truly is uniting today’s Christianity with the world.

The last Rick Warren quote above in this post I actually heard on Christian radio a while back. I recall commenting about it on one of the RW threads here.

I was listening to a Billy Graham classic on the radio the other day and the announcer was offerening a book by Rick Warren. How sad is that?

I have just finished “The Hidden Dangers of the Rainbow” and over and over again Constance Cumbey shows how the Master Plan of the New Age includes the control of the food supply. Rick Warren’s P.E.A.C.E. Plan is pulling many people unwittingly into the New World Order by fooling participants into believing they are helping to feed the hungry.

The origins of Manifest Sons of God, is very interesting……

Kim,
I will probably re-read “Hidden Dangers” again as that was my introduction into the knowledge of the New Age/Theosophy teachings; AND, it was one of the reasons I eventually accepted Christ years later. It was given to me by a Christian neighbor.
I don’t have “A Planned Deception” but, I have a few quotes that I’ve saved from the ‘net. I have the part in which Rev. Ernest Ramsey of a KC Unity (new age) church identified the MSoG teachings as being new age even before Cumbey was prepared to make that conclusion.
Here’s a quote of Cumbey’s:
“Like those seeking the ‘Age of Aquarius’ these people too were seeking a ‘New Age.’ Like the other New Agers, these people taught that ‘The Christ’ was an anointing – not necessarily one man. They taught that Jesus was a pattern son who was to be a sign of something even greater to come – the ‘Manifestation of the Sons of God.’ They too believed the earth was to be cleansed of evil. And chillingly like the other New Agers, they believed they were to be ‘God’s’ instruments to do such cleansing. The New Agers believed they were gods. The Manifest Sons of God likewise taught that if one accepted their ‘new revelation’ that they themselves would actually become Christ at the time of the unveiling or manifestation of the Sons of God.”
It was my knowledge of the New Age from years ago via Cumbey’s first book that I was able to start recognizing the new age leanings of the Latter Rain/Joel’s Army/MSoG doctrine.

Many of today’s latter rain as you call it found much of its teaching in the 1970
as part of the charismatic renewal; fringes.
What got many peoples attention was the promise of greater miracles as we had already seen. So eager were so many for the miraculous that all possibility of it being in error was over looked. I still struggle with left overs from that teaching since it is also tied in with the five fold ministry doctrine.
Revival according to the latter day rain doctrine is detracting from the genuine desire for revival in which the call to righteousness will be its central plank including the fear of God and the holiness of God.
It is this people following, book following that is causing so much trouble for Christ calls us to follow Him alone. Although many authors are used of God we are not called to follow them and their doctrines.
