This is another situation where the Lord put me into a witnessing and learning experience.
pictures: wiccan symbol earth – water – wind – fire with the upright pentagram
This is a revised article originally posted 7/7/07.
I went into a business I frequent knowing that the owner Marilyn, is a Wiccan and calls herself a witch. Well, I noticed that she had filled a bookcase with books about witchcraft and casting spells. Also she had posted a sign on her counter “Wicca 101”. Please sign up for classes.
I said something to her young employee about staying away from the evil books, who in turn said something to Marilyn. She left me a letter at the counter and here is a portion of it.
*****
“I practice the Old Religion that dates back over 30,000 years when humans cherished the planet and what She provides to sustain life. We honor, respect and love not only the masculine god but the feminine Goddess in all Her aspects. We honor and call upon the Arch Angels for assisance and protection whenever we are doing healing work or spiritual ceremonies. We honor the seasons, our planet, the elements that give us life; Mother Earth, Fire, Water, Air.”
“In Wicca, there are many different, eclectic practices…none of which include the Christian bad-guy Satan. Satan ONLY exists in Christianity…you will not find him in other religions. From what i have learned over the years those that are against Christianity take the opposite polarity and honor the negave of Christianity…known as Satan. For us, he doesn’t exist at all and we have nothing to do with anyone that does. This is not because we “believe in him”, it’s because we know there are negative influences and energies of the universe which are not to be tapped into.”
*****
There is something about dealing with witchcraft in your very own neighborhood that makes these issues so close to your heart and so suddenly real. When a local pastor endorsed the new “Harry Potter” book as a good example of good and evil, I was stunned.
Okay, I needed help with this situation. I wrote Marilyn a letter but first emailed it to a friend David Lowe (http://earthquakeresurrection.com) who strengthened the repentance message and basically revamped the letter, much to its improvement.
Here is part of it.
********
Your take on Satan is interesting. Those who adhere to biblical teachings believe that Satan has an influence over ALL other religions. Whether the god worshiped is Baal, Osiris, Brahma, Shiva, Sophia, Kali, Eros, Adonis, Gaia, etc., II Cor. 4:4 describes this evil influence as the “god of this world,” who has blinded the minds of those who do not believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. These gods and goddesses are personifications of life forces or manifestations, but in reality those worshiping them are worshiping demons- unclean evil spirits. The Bible states so in Revelation 9:21 when it says”humanity…did not repent of the works of their hands. so that they did not stop worshiping demons and idols,” Psalm 96:5 states “For all Gods of the nations are worthless idols.”
I have read that most witches teach that we are “divine”. But this is the same lie that Satan told Eve in the Garden of Eden. Gen 3:5 “Your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as Gods”. See…the lie is still the same today. People want to be like God instead of worshiping God. This belief has eternal implications.
Many of the things you believe are filtering into the churches. The Gospel is being ignored. The Gospel is that Jesus died and rose again. He took our sins upon Himself, so that we are forgiven and will live forever with HIM, if we repent and put our trust in HIM. Repentance means we acknowledge our faults to Him, die to ourselves, following the commands of Jesus as a child obeys its Father, and serving Him as a subject serves its King. There couldn’t be anything further from teaching that we are “divine” than this.
********
A couple days went by after I dropped off the letter to her. Then early one morning at 4:00 am, I was awoken by a chanting/singing. I immediately knew that this had to do with Marilyn and I knew she was casting a spell. I believe the Lord allowed me to hear this in my spirit so that I would pray. I prayed for her and His protection for myself.
********
Just recently I was talking with an IHOPian (who I am very concerned about because he is involved in this ministry) who told me that witches had put a curse on his house and had left a dead black cat on his property.
Someone else who has left this ministry gave me an interesting account of how the local witches were frequenting the IHOP (International House of Prayer in Kansas City) prayer room and going to the altar for prayer. This person told me that going to the altar became a problem because it was an open forum and anyone could lay hands on anyone and there was a sense of something demonic from the other person praying.
This person asks….. why aren’t witches fleeing in such a powerful environment of prayer and how could a curse get through the protection that prayer would provide through constant 24/7intercession?
Good question don’t you think? The answer is that territorial and spiritual warfare as proposed and conducted by IHOP is ineffectual.
Upright Pentacle/Pentagram
Upright pentacles and pentagrams are among the most widely used religious symbols. They have been used in many eras and by many cultures and religions of the world: by ancient Pagans, ancient Israelites, Christians, magicians, Wiccans and others.
Wiccans have attempted to reconstruct a Pagan religion similar to that of the ancient Celts. They have adopted the upright pentacle/pentagram, since it was the symbol of Morgan, an ancient Celtic goddess. Many wear it as jewelry and use it on their altars. The symbol is frequently traced by hand using an athame (a ritual knife) during Wiccan rituals. It is used to cast and banish their healing circles. Some Wiccans interpret the five points as representing earth, air, fire, water, and spirit — the five factors needed to sustain life. Others relate the points to the four directions and spirit. Some Wiccans and other Neopagans bless themselves and others with the sign of the pentagram. Their hand passes from their forehead to one hip, up to the opposite shoulder, across to the other shoulder, down to the opposite hip and back to the forehead. Some of the more highly structured Wiccan traditions have used an inverted pentagram to represent a second or third degree status. “Many of these groups have since substituted a triangle form for the same degrees because of the association of the inverted form of the pentacle with Satanism and black magic.“
Witchcraft (divination): a means for extracting information or guidance from a pagan god.
When most people think of witchcraft, they think of worshipping the devil. Howbeit, most people that worship the devil, do NOT worship him directly–They worship idols or other pagan gods. Did you know that behind every idol is a demon! Read the following Scripture:`
1 Corinthians 10:19,20: “What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing? But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.”
There is a real danger in playing with the occult. Charms, idols (statues), crystals, tarot cards, candles, potions, magic recipes, astrology, horoscopes, palm-readings, fortune-tellers, psychics, crystal-balls, spells, trinkets, etc.–There are demons behind all of these!!! If your seeking guidance, power or information from them, you are practicing witchcraft. There are many people today who are placing emphasis upon astrology, rather than upon the Bible. Remember, seeking guidance or information from a pagan god is witchcraft according to the Bible. Stores and magazine racks are loaded with material on occultic practices. The media is promoting it. Oprah Winfrey has done much to promote it. Author’s are promoting it. We see it everywhere we turn! My friend, astrology and all such practices are an abomination unto the Lord. God calls it “an abomination.” Why is it an abomination?–Because it takes people away from the living and true God, Jesus Christ. It plunges them into darkness and demonism (the real gods of the occult). There is reality in the world of demons. There are fallen angels and a spirit world around us. This stuff is real folks, and today people are fascinated with it. Ozzy Osbourne went straight to the top of the rating’s chart in 2002. He is known for upside-down crosses and blasphemies against Christ. People are intrigued with the occult. People use drugs and every other means they can think of to try to make contact with this unseen world (and the Satanic world is eager to make contact with them). A child of God must leave this mess alone! To dabble in astrology is to turn away from the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. God has given us warnings concerning this. His warnings have been very accurate in the past. His batting average, friend, is excellent–He hasn’t missed yet. God hits a home run every time, and I am going to go along with Him. You would be wise to do the same.

Kim,
I was watching the discovery channel one day and there was a story of a guy who bought a book of spells and became terrorized by demons. He didn’t know what to do so he called a wiccan highpriest. The wiccan drew a large a circle and put a pentagram in it. Then he began to chant or something. Anyway the demons came and he told the guy this was bigger than he (the priest)was and he left. Ha!
I believe the demonized guy did eventually become a Christian but the woman who cast the demon out was questionable so I didn’t know what to make of her theology beliefs. Just thought I’d add that.
I had a run in once with some spiritualists who were chanting around a bondfire one. Their voices were very strange. My christian friends and I prayed and the presence broke and the people just stopped and went home.
I agree- I think Ihop is no challange for the witches. They probaby feel strangely at home there.

Kim,
I hope you have a support group of christians praying for you. I will pray for you. But I have heard of christians who get into deep spiritual attack/oppression when they begin to confront the occult. It’s really important to have a bible study group or prayer group who will hold you up in prayer.

Mary,
Thank you for your prayers and your concern. I have a friend in my church, that prayed over me when i told him of the situation with the witch.
I think the Lord led you to tell me this because it is something i needed to hear and pray about. A “prophet” recently commented on the dominion article. (which i had to delete) Of course he completely disagreed with me and asked me to read some of his prophecies on http://www.etpv.org Well i took a quick look, and it was the same stuff they all prophesy. Anyway he became very mean, very fast.
The Lord gave me a discernment of his spirit. What i saw and felt was very dark and it shook me up. I had another friend to talk to and he helped me immensely. But i was thinking of giving up the blog there for a few minutes. I was OK the next day, but what you said has merit.
The Lord has been preparing me for some time now. I do not try to “confront” the occult, but i have indeed been put into some interesting situations.
Thanks Mary,
kim

Kim,
I really hope you don’t give up your blog unless for a time as I imagine it is draining. Iam so encouraged to see God using you this way-because I don’t don’t see many in the church dealing with these topics anymore.
I’ll make myself a little vulnerable here and say before I became a believer, I was exposed to some “bad theology” and due to my ignorance of scripture I had what I believe was an oppressive demonic spirit torment me off and on for several years. When I became a believer it was cast out. Coincidentally, that summer, my first teaching as a new believer was on Ephesians 6:10-17. So it is my desire to see christians apply the truth of ephesians6 and walk in authority over the enemy as God has surely equipt us to do when we walk in His truth. Just want to encourage you Kim. God Bless You. Satan’s bark is worse than his bite. The body of Christ needs to hear this stuff. And the lost who are vulnerable to it’s deception.

I just read the Ephesians passage. I love Ephesians.
Thank you for sharing your experience Mary. I myself was backslidden for many years. It is true isn’t it… that it is the Word of God that will supply what we need for our defense of the enemy.
With the unprecedented increase of mystical occult rites…. like the one you described in an earlier comment…We ALL are going to have face situations like this and deal with them. Like you said the lost will be vulnerable and so will lukewarm Christians.
OK everybody. Read Ephesians 6:10-17

Dear Kim,
There is a lot of talk of a “messiah” and a “Second Coming”so allow me please to humbly set things straight for there are a lot of people that truly love Lord Jesus that are very sensitive that might get hurt or even be drawn to spiritual adventures that are anti Christian.
Those who claim that a “messiah” has arrived with the authority of Lord Jesus (having a name or names like Allah, Buda, Mahdi or Metraya) are all horribly misinformed people who have never bothered to read the scriptures. The coming of the “messiah” is simply a well-planed trick to make people of all religions accept or obey without question the Antichrist who will want to rule on EARTH.
In Apokalyphis we are clearly informed of the conditions on earth AT THE MOMENT OF THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST. (Apocalypses 20:11) “Earth and Heaven fled from His presence and where seen no more” In Apocalypses 21:1 we are also informed that: “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth disappeared, and the sea vanished”
As you can see from the scripts my brothers and sisters there will be NO EARTH LEFT TO RULE as we know it at the moment of the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, because the kingdom of Christ will not be earthly but heavenly. The mention of a new heaven and a new earth in Apokalyphis 21:1 is simply the attempt of the evangelist John to describe in words the indescribable heavenly world that he saw that was revealed to him through Apocalypses. Those who preach that Mertaya or Buda or anyone else is Lord Jesus Christ have intentions or expectations of some day ruling on earth, in essence are Antichrist (against Christ) because they willingly or unwillingly misinterpret the writings in the scripts in order to entrap and in slave His people who love Him.

wichcraft (in exchange of the soul)
According to knowledge begotten from the personal experiences of the Holy Fathers, the Lord’s Second Coming comes (is realized) for each and every one of us at the moment of death. As the soul leaves the body and ascends, it becomes part of a kingdom that knows NO OTHER than the Triad God. As each and every soul ascends to the throne of Lord Jesus it is first surrounded by the spirits of the underworld (telonia) which are always first to claim (keep) for their own the new soul. The spirits of the underworld are first to claim the souls of all those who participated in magic all those who performed it. What they are actually doing they claiming their reprisal for services rendered! A lot of people involved with magic have the impression that white or black magic works because they have acquired their “special powers”. Little do they know that magic works simply because the spirits of the underworld are doing it all for them? The Holy Fathers of Orthodoxy teach that the “snake” in the garden of Eve lives within every one of us next to the heart that is the center of our psychosomatic self. The heart, which is the center of the soul, reflects the condition of the eternal self, the one that leaves the body at the moment of death. As time goes by and the “magician” is “growing in power” the voice (the snake) by the heart becomes his own voice, and then submits his will unknowingly and entirely to the devil. This condition is known as possession. I must tell you that Lazarus the resurrected friend of Lord Jesus was a Cyprus Bishop here for 30 years. Everybody that new him knew a special characteristic of his that was very odd. He never once smiled. After many of years one of his deacons asked him why. His answer was very enlightening for those who think or want to be served by the spirits of the underworld. He said “if you had gone to Hades you would have never smiled neither”!
According to the Holy Fathers the only thing that will stop the evil spirits the only thing that they are terrified of, is the Light with in otherwise known as the Grace of God. This Light (Grace) is first begotten as a result of the union with Christ at Baptism. Galatians 3:27 “You were baptized into union with Christ, and now you are clothed, with the life of Christ himself” After Baptism (as designated by the Apostles) it is up to each and every one of us to do deeds that are pleasing to God in order for Him to grand more Grace. This Light (His Grace) is a much known “phenomenon” in the lives of the Saints in the Church. The Lords Grace was first seen in the face of first martyr Stephen. Acts: 6, 15 “All those sitting in the council fixed their eyes on Stephen and saw that his face looked like the face of an angel”
The nimbus on the heads of the Saints in the icons in Orthodox Churches gives testimony to the same condition. The transformation of the Holy Remains of the Saints (aroma, and the honey gold colour) is also “hands on proof” that while alive; they made their selves worthy to be Temples of the Holy Spirit.
So in simple words…
The “residents” of the Heavenly Kingdom to come, are those who “naturally” are able to reach the throne our Lord, those who were united with him, those who managed to become like He is… Holy (Peter 1, 16). “Be Holy because I am Holy”. The Heavens belong to them for the Heavenly Kingdom is not a place, but a way of being. On the other hand the rest of the souls, (unless otherwise authorized by God) are taken to a holding place (the underworld) by its winged residences (devil spirits) who are authorized (like they always were) to do so. The souls there will await the Second Coming and the Rendering of Justice from the Lord.
Finally Paul is very lucid in 1 Corinthians 15:41 in describing a certain “personal characteristic” of each and every one that is united with Lord Jesus in the Heavenly Kingdom after His Second Coming. (From the original Bible Greek text) “The brightness and shine of the sun, differs from the shine of the moon that differ from the shine of the stars that all differ between them. And he continues in verse 42. “This is how it will be when the dead are raised to life” meaning the resurrection of the bodies of each and every one of us will be characterized by the amount “Grace given” or the deformity from “shame acquired” during our life time”. The only “medicine” that can cure Sin is the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus (Holy Communion after confession) who is very clear as to who will have Eternal Life in (John 6, 54). Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them to life on that last day”.

Oh how easy it is to sit in your ivory towers and pretend that yours is the only belief there is and to cast names at those you cannot and will not understand. After all how manny lives in the past have been taken in the name of god ,because they were seen as a threat to the power base that is the church, eg witch killings, the holy inquisitions . yes it is easy to be a christian and to turn a blind eye to the blood that lays at the very foundation of your religion, blessed will be the day christians open there eyes and thier hearts and accept all men as equals no matter what thier beliefs be.

I believe the Holy Bible and it says in John 14:6: Jesus saith unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
I believe that Jesus is the only way.
Yes, there have been many lives lost because of religion. Many have said that they have done these things in the name of God, but they are/were deceived. Jesus tells us to lay down our lives for Him.
If you want to picture in your mind a true disciple of Jesus Christ, picture those who were killed by lions in the arenas of Rome or the disciples who were slain as martyrs in Christ’s name. The Christians in China today are being persecuted in Jesus’ name.
Is it me who turns a blind eye?… or it is those who reject Jesus as Lord and Savior? Christians who are committed to Christ like to tell others of our joy and the salvation in Jesus.
Friend..please… those who sit in ivory towers are those who believe they are not sinners and do not need forgiveness.
I am a sinner who needs Jesus Christ. I have turned to Him. I pray you will too!

A Pagan/Wiccan Writes...
I would just like to add somet things I didn’t read in your blog. Now before I ask you the question, I will say that I believe everyone worships the same God. The only difference is that we are connecting to him in a different way.
Isn’t it true that when Christianity was invented, they tortured and killed hundreds of thousands of people who would not believe in their ways?
Isn’t it a historical fact that many of the Christian holidays (Easter, Christmas, etc.) were created from Pagan traditions?
Isn’t it a fact that the first Chirstians converted the Pagan temples into their own and then decided to call most of the Pagan God’s “Saints”?
Isn’t it true that researchers are discovering that the bible was made up and that Jesus may have been misinterpreted? (pay close attention to the news).
Isn’t it true, that before Jesus, our ancestors practiced Pagan-like traditions? Were they all wrong? Did they all go to the Christian hell because Heaven never existed?
Isn’t it true that Christianity (in the old days) murdered children, those who were different, those who were unique, those who worshipped God in their own, private way?
Isn’t it true that Jesus is supposedly the son of God? If this is true, then why is it wrong for Pagans to worship God, and not his son?
Is it just a big coincidence that all Christian holidays fall on, or very close, to Pagan holidays that were celebrated thousands of years before man invented Christianity?
Is it just a coincidence that Pagan symbolism is found within every Christian holiday? (i.e., easter eggs, santa clause w/8 reindeer, christmas tree, etc.)
——————————————–
I could go on forever but I won’t.
I believe in God, and so do you Christians. I also believe in a Goddess as do SOME Christians (Mary).
I believe in helping those in need.
I believe in protecting the Earth and human life.
I believe in love and light.
If all the aforementioned make me evil, then by God and her Goddess, I will be evil.
Thank you for your time. I am really interested in your answers. Please answer the questions without citing the bible. For it has been translated too many times and researchers are proving that it is all wrong.
Thank you again. Please note that I do respect your beliefs and traditions. Again, in the end, we are all worshipping the same Gods.

Hi..
I would be happy to answer your questions. I would agree with most of your “isn’t it true”s. Many of the holidays, traditions, symbols used by Christians are pagan in origin. Most Christians do not know this. But there are those who will not celebrate these holidays.
Constantine Christianized the pagan holidays about the 4th Century AD. He merely gave the festivals Christian sounding names. In this way Christian followers have accepted the pagan rituals. This is a deception i have warned about.
Now as a society we have no option regarding… the calendar and using pagan names for the days of the week, but i can refrain from worshiping pagan gods.
I believe just the opposite of what you say… that researchers are discovering that the Bible was made up. Lets start with the dead sea scrolls which prove the accuracy of the OT and then take a look at archaeology which is proving the histories of the Bible. Here is good site.
http://www.christiananswers.net/archaeology/home.html
The science involved here is just beginning to uncover truths in the Bible. For instance there was no proof anywhere of the existance of Hittites in the Bible till a site was unearthed proving the Bibles reference to them. Of course then there is finding of Nineveh in Iraq, Hazor and its remains that confirm the Bible.
Next there is the documentation of the early transcripts of the New Testament. Bibliography is the testing of transmission of ancient copies. Now there are 24,633 copies of of the New Testament found as early as 125 AD approximately 25 years after the NT was deemed to be completed.
The tests have shown that the data for the NT is incredible. Only 1/5 of 1% of the Bible have been distorted. And the theology remains unchanged, totally intact.
The gospel accounts of the words and actions of Jesus were being preached within 50 days of his resurrection and in 25 years there were written accounts by eyewitnesses.
The closest documented manuscript is the Iliad which has a 5% distortion rate with only 643 copies. But this work is not questioned..
This is only the tip of the iceberg. There is much information out there for those who are truly interested in the truth.
http://www.carm.org/evidence/textualevidence.htm
Yes…there has been thousands upon thousands killed in the “name of Christianity”. BUT…in truth Christians are asked to lay down their life for Christ, not kill for him. We are asked to pick up a cross daily and suffer if need be, not make others suffer. And those who truly walk with the Lord do this. This is totally opposite of the crusades.
Yes, there is only one God. But many ways?….The trinity is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All One.
But Jesus was sent to earth and died for us. Jesus is the only way. Narrow-minded? Yes. Intolerant? Yes.
Jesus said I am the Way and the Truth, no one comes to the Father but by me.
I believe this with my life. Therefore there are two questions that are not stumpers for me.
1. Why am i here?
2. What will happen when i die?
Thank you for taking the time to present your views.

A Pagan/Wiccan Writes
Thank you for your reply, Kim. Here are just a couple more questions. I’m sure you, a person who totally loves Jesus, can answer these for me. The questions follow:
———————————————
If a Christian follows the bible, which is supposed to be done, then would you agree that technically speaking, I, a Witch, should be put to death in the name of your Lord? (Exodus 22:18; Leviticus 20:27)
In Genesis 22, God ordered Abraham to kill his own child. If God gave you a personal, direct order to kill your own child, would you obey Him? If not, why not? Surely you don’t think you’re smarter than Abraham, do you?
Are you aware that the Old Testament contains absolutely no descriptions of the afterlife — either heaven OR hell? Why do you think this is?
Mark 16:18 says that if a Christian drinks deadly poison, it won’t hurt him at all. Are you a Christian? If I gave you some poison, would you drink it? Ready to put your money where your mouth is? Ready to “step out in faith?”
Do you believe that God creates evil, as the Bible states (Isaiah 45:7, KJV)? If you believe this, why do you worship him?
Do you believe that a stubborn and rebellious son should be executed in public? Your God does (Deuteronomy 21:18ff)
Do you hate your mother and father? Jesus said that if you don’t, you can’t be his disciple (Luke 14:26). Are you disqualified from being a Christian? Isn’t it time for you to repent of your sin of being a mother-lover?
We know for a fact that Lot was a righteous man, because the Bible says so (II Peter 2:7). We also know for a fact that Lot got drunk, had intercourse with his own daughters (Genesis 19:31ff), and got them both pregnant. If I did this to my daughters, would you tell people that I was a righteous man?
Do you believe that prayer should be allowed in public schools? Are you aware that Jesus himself specifically commanded people not to pray in public (Matthew 6:5-6)?
The Bible tells us that the Israelites wandered in the Sinai desert for 40 years, and that most of them died there (Numbers 14:20-24). Using the census numbers from Exodus and Numbers, that means that approximately two million people died in 40 years in a relatively small area (and we know where it is). Are you aware that there is absolutely no archaeological evidence of those people having been in this part of the world? How do you explain this?
The Bible promises that God will meet ALL your needs (Philippians 4:19). Do you carry insurance? Why do you think you need it? Don’t you believe what the Bible says? Is a promise from God not good enough for you?
Do you believe in evolution? Are you aware that the DNA of a bonobo (a primate) is 98.4% identical to yours (hell, in some states, that’s high enough to establish paternity)? If God created everything, why do you think he created you almost exactly like a hairy jungle primate? Are you aware that your skeletal system is pretty much identical to that of a bird, or a dog, or a cat, or a rat — an arm that has a radius and an ulna; carpal and metacarpal bones; a scapula; ribs; a sternum; a pelvis; tibia and fibula bones in the legs; the whole framework covered by a system of muscles and skin tissues; bilateral symmetry; a blood/circulatory system that’s powered by a heart? Is your God simply lacking in imagination, that he created most of the warm-blooded animals using exactly the same basic design? Or is there perhaps the tiniest possibility that we all evolved from a lower life form?
In Genesis 1:26, when God said, “Let us make man in our image,” whom was he talking to? The animals? The plants? It couldn’t have been a human, because humans didn’t exist yet. There’s only one God, so he couldn’t have been talking to some other god.
Or could he? Are you aware that the word in Genesis 1:1 that’s translated “God” — אלהים — is PLURAL?
The National Review Board gave a report of sex abuse committed by Catholic priests in the United States between 1950 and 2002. Four percent, or one out of every 25 priests, had been formally accused of sexually abusing minors. Which do you think is safer for your child: to be alone with a Christian priest, or to walk through a city park at 11:00 pm?
Four percent of priests … that’s actually a higher percentage of child molesters than you’d find in the average prison population! You’d find lots of murderers, thieves, embezzlers in the typical U.S. prison … but you wouldn’t have a 4% pedophile rate.
Think for a minute … when was the last time you read a newspaper article (or saw a news item on TV) about a member of the Wiccan clergy sexually abusing a child? Or the Islamic clergy? Or a Buddhist priest? In fact, have you ever seen even one news article about a clergyman from the Church of Satan molesting a child?
I contend that, statistically, your six-year-old daughter is safer being alone with a minister of the Church of Satan than with a Catholic priest.
Are you aware that your God has threatened (four different times, in four different books of the Bible!) to make people cannibalize their own children as a form of punishment? See:
(1) Leviticus 26:29;
(2) Deuteronomy 28:53;
(3) Jeremiah 19:9;
(4) Ezekiel 5:10.
And II Kings 6:28-29 tells the story of someone who actually did it (ate her own child)! Would you teach these verses to your children during a home Bible study? Are there other disgusting passages in the Bible (II Kings 9:10, II Kings 18:27) that you believe children should be protected from? What would you think of me if I read these disgusting passages to your child? Shouldn’t the Bible be removed from the libraries of elementary schools? What sins or crimes do you believe would justify a sentence of “you must eat your own children?”
And by the way … doesn’t this punish the (innocent) children also? Where is the justice in making them die (and be eaten!) because somebody else has sinned?
Are you aware that there are many pre-Christian myths about a god-man who comes to earth, is born of a virgin, sacrifices himself, and is resurrected? That some of those pre-Christian myths include stories about the miraculous feeding of multitudes, the healing of sick people, and walking on water? Do you have an explanation for how these stories, which existed before Jesus was ever born, could be so similar to the Gospel accounts?
Have you ever studied church history — the Inquisition, the witch burnings, the Crusades, the selling of indulgences, the Popes who fathered illegitimate children? How do you feel about these things? Do they make you ashamed to belong to such an ugly tradition? Why isn’t church history ever taught in church? (you Protestants would have to admit that for many centuries, the Catholic church was the only boat afloat.)
Are you aware that there are many Christian documents that were written during the First Century C.E. (such as the Gospel of Peter, the Gospel of Thomas, The Shepherd, the Didace) that aren’t part of the Bible? Are you aware that the decisions as to which writings would be included in the Christian Bible were made over 1600 years ago? Tell me everything you know about (1) those book-choosing/book-rejecting “experts” in the Fourth Century C.E. and (2) the decision-making processes that they used and (3) explain to me why you trust them so much. Can you name even one of them? Were they educated people? Were they all male … was there even one woman on the panel? Were they scholars, or politicians? Aren’t you terribly worried that some of what’s in your Bible doesn’t belong there, or that there’s something left out that is very important? Aren’t you taking a huge leap of faith … not with regard to your God, but with regard to the Fourth-Century folks who cobbled together the oddball collection of writings we now refer to as “the Bible?”

Okay, those are my questions for now. Thank you for your attention and time. I will monitor this page and await your answers.

To Mr./Ms Pegan/Wiccan,
You have alot of stuff for Kim to answer. I’l answer one thing though I don’t mean to speak for Kim:
You ask:
“The National Review Board gave a report of sex abuse committed by Catholic priests in the United States between 1950 and 2002. Four percent, or one out of every 25 priests, had been formally accused of sexually abusing minors. Which do you think is safer for your child: to be alone with a Christian priest, or to walk through a city park at 11:00 pm? ”
To answer that I have to quote from Matt 7:21:
“Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom of God.”
You have heard of the reformation and Martin Luther?
Just because one calls themslves a christian doesn’t make them one. Actually, I believe the catholic church is referred to in the book of revelations as the whore of Babylon.
As a former catholic myself I now reject the false teaching of the catholic church and consider them to be for the most part anethema.

Again I know you are addressing Kim, but I seem to have alot of time on my hands today…you said:
The Bible promises that God will meet ALL your needs (Philippians 4:19). Do you carry insurance? Why do you think you need it? Don’t you believe what the Bible says? Is a promise from God not good enough for you?
Much of what you are asking is like a two sided coin:
consider Proverbs 6:6-11 which says:
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard?
When will you get up from your sleep?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest-
11 and poverty will come on you like a bandit
and scarcity like an armed man. [a]
Also the new testiment mentions that a man who doesn’t provide for his family is worse than an unbeliever. So in the end we are responsible to provide for our families and be smart about planning for our future but in the end it’s all in God’s hands. He is sovereign. oopps guess you don’t like to hear that.
“If a Christian follows the bible, which is supposed to be done, then would you agree that technically speaking, I, a Witch, should be put to death in the name of your Lord? (Exodus 22:18; Leviticus 20:27)”
here is my take on that (Kim feel free to correct me)- Israel was a monotheistic nation caled by God to be the nation with whom He revealled Himself. It was necessary to keep the nation pure.(though lthrough their continual rebellion and later rejected the Messiah, God turned to the Gentiles).
We don’t live under a monotheistic form of government. We are not therefore commanded to follow the laws that governed Israel during the Old Testiment times.
Kill you? I have heard of too many satanists coming to know the true living God. And what beautiful testimonies they have of the God who bought them with His blood. As long as you are above ground I am holding out hope for you.

Okay here goes!
If you reject Christ you will eternally separated from God.
Would I kill my own child? I am not as faithful as Abrahman. I do not know what i would do in his situation. Abraham believed God’s promise that this offspring would populate the earth so he must have figured God would handle it, and He did. He provided a ram caught in the thicket for the sacrifice.
On the contrary i believe that are numerous descriptions of hell in the OT. I brought up all the verses with “Hell” in them, and found these words. and phrases. Fire kindled, shall burn, consume earth, sorrows, snare of death, naked, destruction, suffer, trouble, sorrow, chamber of death, the dead are there, the pit, scourge, trodden down, heathen, slain. This does not even include the surrounding verses completing the passage.
You are right i do not have enough faith to drink poison, so no i wouldn’t drink it. In Matthew 17 the disciples could not heal a boy with a demon. Jesus told them they did not have enough faith.
Yes the Lord created darkness and lightness. I worship Him because He has brought me out of the darkness and into the light. Praise God.
The parents had to bring the child before the elders and be convicted as I remember from the study of this passage. I do not think there is any instance in the Bible actually depicts a child being stoned for being a rebel. Maybe someone else can elaborate here.
I do not hate my Mother and Father. This is a passage that tells us to put Jesus first before all people, and even our own lives. I would gladly give up my life for Jesus.
Lots daughters took advantage of Lot when he was drunk. It says that “He was not aware of it”
I believe in the separation of church and state. This would be to protect the gov’t from dictating what goes on in gov’t institutions. I believe anyone should be able to pray in earnest to whom they wish. Jesus was referring to the Pharisees in this passage who would make sure that they were at a busy corner at 3:pm so that they could stop and demonstrate how holy they were by their loud babbling prayer. I believe that the Lord hears prayer no matter where we are. We are not to make it a spectacle of it.
I do not know what has happened to the bones of the wandering Jews.
I know Christians who only carry insurance that the government requires like auto, and for mortgages. I have insurance so i have a lack of faith.
I believe in some evolution, changes over time. But i do not believe we evolved from primates.
God exists in the plural because of the trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
There are definite problems with the Catholic priests. I believe that this denomination is the Harlot that is spoken of in Revelation, and that the Pope will be part of the end-time false chuch/religion.
I looked at the verses you used for cannabalizaion. It seems that they are prophecies which are fulfilled later in I KIngs and II Kings. The people who refused to listen to the Lord sacrificed their children to the false god Baal. The people chose to do this.
I only know of the prophesies in the Bible which foreshadow the birth of Jesus Christ.
I have read much about how the Bible was put together. I am satisfied with the result. No i am not worried. When i pray before i read my Bible, I pray that His word will come alive for me and it does. It has the solutions for me to completely live my life in obedience to God and his will. The Old Testament explains how even the patriarchs sinned and were still used by God.
Man is sinful. Only through Jesus Christ do we have a chance of eternal life. I am a sinner and totally imperfect. I have no righteousness in me, that is why we are told to be clothed in Christ’s righteousness. That is why I need a Savior. Because i call upon the name of Jesus i will have eternal life. Growing in faith is a process. I pray all the time for growth and love and humility that i may be able to serve Jesus will all my heart.
I know this does not answer all your questions. I am at work on my lunch break. But i am not sure you really want the answers. Many of the questions you posed are same ones you read on all the atheist sites.
Hopefully others will add to what i have said.
May God touch your heart….

Merry Meet Mary,
Just to correct you, Mary, I am not a satanist. I don’t believe in the devil, nor do I worship any evil entity. This is a Christian thought that goes against the rest of the world and true Pagan/Wiccan views.
You wrote: “[w]e are not therefore commanded to follow the laws that governed Israel during the Old Testiment times.” Where in the bible does it tell you that you don’t to follow the laws that governed Israel during the Old [Testiment]?
So then you must agree that you are not following the bible as Jesus and God commanded? So how can one call himself/herself “Christian” if they don’t adhere to the “word of God/Jesus” (the bible)?
Again, I do believe in God, but not in the way the Christians do. There’s too many facts that disprove it. There’s too many facts that tell us that the Christian religion may be the darkest con of mankind. If evil exists, I believe it caused the first Christians to twist the pre-Christian religion that we now call “Paganism”. This would explain the evil doings of the Christians and the desperate killings/tortures of all those who believed in the pre-Christian practices/teachings.
I say they “twisted” the pre-Christian religion because a lot of the practices/rituals/spells of the Christian religion are derived from “Paganism”, as Kim agreed above.
Come on, you really believe the story of Noah? That one man created this big ark and had several thousand species enter upon it to be saved by a massive flood?
You really believe in the evolution story? Did you know that dinosaurs (sp?) really did roam the Earth and that science has proven the christian evolution theory as false?
Thank you for responding, Mary. Hopefully you or someone else can truly answer the questions I’ve asked without citing passages from the bible for if you truly believe the bible, then you agree must also agree with the following:
— It is okay for a father to have intercourse with his daughters;
— It is okay to kill me because I am a Witch and follow a path that “harms none”;
— It is okay to kill your children if they cuss at you;
— It is okay to torture and kill all those who don’t believe what you believe;
— It is okay to burglarize people;
— It is okay to stop women from speaking in church;
— It is okay for a woman to do whatever her husband wants;
— It is okay to kill a woman who has disobeyed her husband;
— Need I go on?……………………………………………….
Blessed be!

Wasn’t “Catholicism” the religious path the “bible editors” followed? Aren’t they the ones that started the whole Christian religion? So, if this is correct, and you truly believe in your aforementioned statement, then why do you follow Christianity and acknowledge the bible? If in fact it was the Catholics who had the authority to edit the bible? Wouldn’t it be wise to say that every denomination of the Christian religion is the false church/religion?
I’m all for worshipping Jesus, but I do not believe in using the bible. Some things I agree with, but most of it I disagree with.
I believe Jesus existed, just like I believe many Gods before him did. But I believe I should worship the true God, not his son. I believe I should acknowledge Jesus, but shouldn’t give him “ultimate power”.
You also wrote: “[m]ay God touch your heart.” ——- He already has, as well as His consort. This is why I’m blessed with good health, a healthy, loving family, a booming legal support business, caring/loving friends, etc.

The Catholics tried to add The Apocrypha to the 66 cannonized books.
The apocryphal books were not permitted among the sacred books during the first four centuries of the real Christian church. The King James Holy Bible does not contain the apocrypha.
Jesus said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Merry,
You list a lot of things that you attribute to being approved by God. But, what you fail to see is that God doesn’t approve of everything that occurs in the Bible. He in His great wisdom and because He cannot lie, doesn’t attempt to hide those bad and sinful things that those who claimed to follow Him did. Rather, God shows us His patience, grace, and mercy when He allows the fallen nature of man to be revealed so unflinchingly.
We know God is light and there is no darkness in Him. He cannot tell the truth and make the Bible appear to be full of perfect vs erring people. Everything in God’s Word is for the purpose of revealing the nature of God. You have to be willing to balance God’s holiness and righteous judgment against His longsuffering and patience.
God help these dear ladies help you to believe the truth, which you obviously know, to some extent, but you also refuse to accept God as He is. He will not conform to what we desire Him to be. We cannot create God in an image of our choosing any more than we can dream up a new primary color or a new sense. Faith comes from God so you must seek it.

Thank you to all those who have written. I’m starting to suspect that none of you have ever researched other religions besides Christianity. Which is okay, don’t get me wrong.
My favorite “part” of Christianity is that of Mary Magdalene. From the historical viewpoint, I am confident Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and did have a daughter with her………………. I truly believe that in reality, if Jesus did exist, he told his followers to worship him and his wife (a Christian Goddess). However, the church didn’t like that idea and fabricated the bible and left her out and only focused on the male deity.
Anyways, thank you again for responding. May the Lord and Lady bless you all, and all those that you love. Blessed be!

I guess we got the impression your name was Merry because of your..
“Merry Meet Mary,”
Sounds like you prefer fiction like “The DaVinci Code” over the Bible.
I remember you saying how well your life is going. If you ever find that you are dying of a terminal illness, if you are ever going down on a airplane with a bomb…
Who will you call out to in the last seconds of your life? And will it be too late?
February 18, 2008 at 8:39 am
A Pagan/Wiccan writes
I would call upon the Lord and Lady, naturally. I wouldn’t call upon “Jesus”. Why would I? He’s not the Almighty, he’s supposedly the Son of God.
Would I call upon Buddha (sp?) if I were in danger? Of course not! For I don’t worship him.
As a law enforcement officer I have been in hundreds of dangerous situations throughout my career. Not once have I ever called out to “Jesus” when shot at. Nor have I ever muttered his name when I have been out numbered fighting for my life with my backup miles away.
I think you think I don’t believe in God. This is totally untrue! I believe in a Goddess and God. I believe that all the Gods/Goddesses our ancestors worshipped are all a manifestation of one….. even your Jesus.
I completely reject the bible because I think it’s complete nonsense that has been misinterpreted countless times throughout history (though I don’t reject the concept of Christianity.)
Throughout history, before Christianity there were many stories of a God being born from a virgin who walked around healing the sick, creating various miracles on Earth and being resurrected ….. it was nothing new to the people back then (i.e. Isis, to name just one [no I don’t worship Isis, Kim]. So was it just a coincidence that Jesus’s story was pretty much the same, as tradition back then was told?
I’ve never seen “The DaVinci Code”, although I am told it is a great movie that is based on a lot of truth…. truth the Christian church would kill to keep silent. In fact, I here there is a movie coming out this spring called “Bloodline” that will introduce new evidence that has been discovered concerning the mortality of your Jesus Christ. And if you brush up on real history (not so-called “history” the church teaches), you’ll see it makes perfect sense.
I will say, that in my 23 years as a police officer, and 10 years as a clerk-magistrate, I have never seen a Pagan commit, nor be investigated for, a serious felony. All those who I have encountered murdering, assaulting, raping, beating, etc. have all been Christians. Many a time I have heard the excuse of “Jesus, my savior told me to do it!” ——— Now if Paganism (Wicca) is statistically the fastest growing religion in the United States and Europe, why haven’t I encountered a Pagan engaging in such cruel, senseless acts? —– I find this to be rather interesting.
I have encountered Satanists who have been in trouble for the aforementioned crimes, but their views have absolutely nothing to do with REAL Paganism. But let us not confuse a Satanist for a Pagan/Wiccan.
If there truly is a “Lord of Evil”, or a “Satan” as you call him, maybe the fact that Pagans/Wiccans don’t believe in “him”, gives us the advantage, so-to-speak, because by us not believing or acknowledging “Satan” as you (the Christians) do, he has no power over us. Just a thought…….
I look at all the World’s religions as a hierarchy, if you will. I think there are religions that worship The One in the ‘least connected’ way, and there are the other religions who are “closer” to The One. I think those religions that are unbalanced — those who don’t believe in a God and Goddess (for all life is created through the union of male and female [thus it is wise to believe that our creators are also a male and a female]) are not truly connected to the Almighty.
Those religions that embrace a God and a Goddess are closest to the Almighty for they are balanced. I believe those who are balanced will forever be blessed and will learn all the lessons that need to be learned.
Finding God should be a personal experience/journey. I don’t believe the Almighty told a bunch of Christians to write everything down in a book and call it a bible. And that this “holy book” was to be followed by every man and woman on Earth.
I don’t believe the Almighty will punish all those who don’t follow the Christian “holy book” and burn the hell out of them for eternity. I believe this is a concept created by Christians used as a “tool” to scare everyone into believing in their ways. For the Christian thought is that every way is the wrong way except for their way!
I am happy to announce that I have followed the path of enlightenment and will continue to live in peace and harmony with all living things from now until forever. I will not fear my Lord and Lady for they will never turn their backs on us and send us to a hell fire.
Okay, it’s 11:36 PM and I must turn in for the night. Since I have a day off tomorrow, my family and I are going to volunteer at our local food pantry. Blessings upon you all!

About 75% of the U. S. population call themselves Christians, but they rarely go to church, never read the Bible. So what would be a closer estimate of believers who pray, repent, and desire to live for the Lord on a minute-to-minute basis? Hard to say. 1 – 5 % ???? Even the churches are filled with people who say they are Christians but are not truly saved.
“All those who I have encountered murdering, assaulting, raping, beating, etc. have all been Christians”
These people are fooling themselves and apparently you.

I don’t think they can be an actual Christian if they are murdering, assaulting, raping, beating, etc. There are some wack jobs out there in every religion.
There are some Christian churches who, still to this day, are totally against Pagans and think the Pagans are Satanists out to get your children to eat and give to the “devil”. This is completely pathetic!
There are other Christian churches who realize that REAL Pagans are not devil worshippers and acknowledge that we can all learn something from one another.
I, just like a Christian, am against Satanists because they twist the good religions and create false images about the good ones.—– Which gives us all a bad name.
My whole point in writing to your blog is to let you know that REAL Pagans/Wiccans are wonderful people. We don’t worship any evil entity known as Satan or the Devil. Our creed, if you will, commands us to harm none. We would never do anything ‘evil’.
I know other Pagans/Wiccans who are police officers, attorneys, doctors, nurses, etc. In fact, I also know a Judge, who reviews my rulings/cases as a clerk-magistrate, who is a Pagan (he’s not a Wiccan though).
Although the word, “Wicca” is less then a hundred years old, a lot of our Pagan practices predate Christianity by thousands of years. I can’t believe that our creators doomed all of our ancestors to hell for believing in a God/Goddess. Then, one fine day our Creators decided to send down the Son of God (Jesus) who would inform everyone to change their ancient practices else be destined to live in a fiery pit called hell. (Note: as mentioned above, the story of Jesus was just like the story of many Gods before him [Isis & Osiris]. I think the only difference is that Jesus did not have a female counterpart [a Goddess] as all other religions back then did).
Pagans/Wiccans also do not reject God. We may not see him in the way you do, but we do worship a God. Who’s to say you’re right or that I am right? In the end, all that should matter is whether or not we accept God, and whether or not we’ve lived our life in a righteous way.
Pagans/Wiccans also worship a Goddess, for we believe that it makes sense due to the fact that all life is created through the union of a male and female.
You’ll never find, at least I hope you won’t, a Pagan/Wiccan standing on a corner trying to convert everyone into a Pagan/Wiccan. This is because we accept that people worship the God/Goddess in their own way. Some may ignore the God part, others the Goddess.
Just FYI, Kim, I think you may be one of the good Christians.
It’s now 11:21 AM….. I got to go.

I do intend to answer the question you posted previously but I am at work and will answer this evening.
BTW,
I was not born a christian. Rather I believe really it was God who began to search me out in my high school days.(it’s known as the hounds of heaven barking at my feet) I can’t tell you how real He is. But somehow I am afraid I may be wasting my time? I would say there are trully very few Christians in the USA who are truly walking with the Lord. The church is intend in a sad state these days. And I know you don’t believe in the trinity but that’s real christianity. Father Son Holy Spirit. Much like H2O can be found in three different forms:water, steam, ice.

I am a Biblical Christian, although i have no righteousness of my own. No one does. I am a sinner. I need the Lord Jesus Christ. Through prayer and the asking of forgiveness of sin, is how one is cleansed of unrighteousness.
We can go through life doing good deeds and being kind but in reality, we all lie, think unkind thoughts, covet, etc.
“In the end, all that should matter is whether or not we accept God, and whether or not we’ve lived our life in a righteous way.”
Do you consider yourself righteous?

Yes. I feel that I live in the most correct way humanly possible. As police officer, I have saved at least a thousand lives and have protected thousands more.
As a clerk-magistrate, I have protected thousands of people by using man-created authority to prevent violence against others (issuance of abuse prevention orders; issuance of court orders, etc.).
My family and I pride ourself in volunteering for various organizations such as homeless shelters, food pantry’s, etc. Most of these are Christian influenced organizations and I am happy to assist them. I do not deceive my Christian friends, however, because they know my religious beliefs and, even more amzingly, they accept them. At the beginning the Pastor tried to convert me, however he quickly learned that I am not ashamed, nor weak in my beliefs. Now all the Christians consider me as part of their community and accept me as an individual.
The Catholic Church is the only Christian church I distrust. Something about their practices make me feel uneasy.
Regardless, just because I feel that I am a good man and role model, I am no where near the object of perfection. Or, as you would say, I am not “sinless”. We all are no where near perfect.
My beliefs tell me that if I do bad/evil deeds, they will come back to me threefold in this lifetime. Think of it, if you will, as “karma”. For instance, I believe that if I break my neighbors arm, soon I will suffer three times worse… maybe a broken hip….. maybe I’ll lose my job…… I won’t know till it happens.
The same goes for the good deeds I do. In my lifetime if I do something good, I will have three times that return to me in the future. In other words, we get what we deserve, not after death, but in this lifetime.

To “A Pagan/Wiccan”,
I apologize for assuming you were referring to yourself as Merry.
Sir, I respect you for your dedication to your job. But, you must know that when you discount Jesus Christ, you are saying, essentially, that when He left His heavenly abode to come to earth and become a worm like us that He wasted His time. The scripture says that He gave up all His rights and privilesges willingly to become a frail human being, to try and communicate God’s will for us, then die like a criminal even though He’d done nothing but good, but did it willingly in order that you and I might have eternal life. Not in this body on on this earth, but in the life to come.
Do you actually believe that Jesus died for nothing? That it was all a mistake? Then you obviously don’t believe He was resurrected from the dead by the power of His Word and now is in heaven to plead our case?
Sir, please read the Bible for yourself. Don’t pay any attention to what I or anyone else has told you, because you need to believe for yourself. You did not comment on theis blog by pure chance. This may be the only door God gives you to see His light. Read at least one of the Gospels (I think Luke is most personalized), Acts and especially Romans chapters 1-8 and let God tell you Himself.
You cannot save yourself anymore than you can add anything to your physical height, stop a bullet with your mind, or cause a bird to grow fur.
None of us are divine, special, beings who will somehow escape the two things God promises everyone: death and judgment.
Please open your heart and mind to the possibility that we’re on to something true. Don’t let all the hypocrites who will suffer the same fate as Hitler keep you from obtaining the gift of eternal life!
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, (John 11:25 ESV)

A Pagan/Wiccan writes
You wrote, “[d]o you actually believe that Jesus died for nothing? That it was all a mistake?”
I believe he died, just like many men did. However I don’t understand why he was declared the “Son of God” years later.
So why should I be forced to believe in the story of Jesus when the same story was told before he even existed? The mere notion that some of his diciples, I think it was like two, claimed that he came back to life, doesn’t really prove Jesus was resurrected. I’ve seen many people lie under oath…. who’s to say they didn’t? If I am wrong in this aspect of the story, please correct me.
February 19, 2008 at 9:43 pm

Yes, I am aware of these myths, which are all designed by Satan to promote unbelief. However, did anyone willingly die to spread the “good news” about the purpose of these so-called god-men dying? I don’t think so! The remarkable thing about Jesus Christ is that:
1. He chose men who worked with their hands and were unlearned to proclaim His free gift of substitutionary sacrifice.
2. These same men all died, save one, as martyrs for the faith they were promoting. In other words, they believed Jesus was the Son of God without any reservation. How many people would willingly die for something they knew wasn’t true?
3. Christianity exploded through persecution and martyrdom in the first two centuries.
4. The Bible has never been outsold, and remains a perennial bestseller.
5. All attempts to extinguish the gospel have failed miserably. For example, when the Chinese, under Mao, kicked all the Western missionaries out of their country, the expectation was that Christianity would die off. Instead, when missionaries were re-introduced decades later, the number of Christian believers had multiplied exponentially BECAUSE of the suppression!
6. The Bible continues to be proven correct about things it states, that were “scientifically” declared impossible or wrong previously.
7. Why do you think the most often used curse words aren’t using the names of these so-called god-men, or even Satan’s, but instead, the name of Christ is regularly and popularly blasphemed?
If you choose to not believe, then that is the choice you will answer to God for. The evidence is there IF you are truly searching for truth. The Bible says that “…without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. ” (Hebrews 11:6 ESV)

Well that’s a simple question to answer. It’s because Christianity is one of the largest religions in the world. If you recall true history, Christianity became popular in the old days because those who wouldn’t convert were tortured and put to death.

Well, then why are Hindu gods or goddesses not included in curses by anyone? Why isn’t the name Allah used in curse words? I have never heard anyone take the angel Moroni’s name in vain, or any Indian god or goddess.
Of course, I live in America and can’t speak for China, Saudia Arabia, etc., but in my 50+ years of life I have never heard any recognizable name used as a curse word other than God and Jesus Christ.

Pagan/ Wiccan,
Do you mean those who wouldn’t convert to Christianity were put to death or those who wouldn’t convert to something other than christianity?
Please don’t assume that the real church would kill if that person wouldn’t convert to Christianity. The church of Rome was nothing more than a political ruling power and did not preach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Many things have been done in the name of Christ without the guidance of the Holy Spirit direction and apart from the commands of God’s word.
But if you are talking about the early believers and believers in the middle ages than you have to admit no one is going to die for something that they do not have complete conviction in.

Sir, you stated earlier that the difference between Wiccans and Christians was you folks didn’t try to convert anyone. So why are you here?
You don’t seem to take the time to really ponder any of our responses and grant us a reasoned answer. Your answers are the type I expect from someone who has already made up their mind. On the other hand I’ll give you a small benefit of doubt:
If other cultures don’t use the name of Jesus Christ as a vain or disrepectful form of cursing, it is only because they are unaware of the Name. I know of no culture where the names of their religious deities are used in the blasphemous and cavalier manner that Christ’s name is in the Western world. So, let’s keep the disrespectful slang use of Christ’s name in a Western setting. From that point, can you ponder the question again, please? Why is Christ’s name considered a throwaway word here? Half the people that use His name in everyday speech don’t even read the Bible, so why is it so prevalent?
And lastly, when you go to sleep at night, do you have the peace of mind of knowing that if you die, you KNOW that your next life depends not on your qualifications for eternal life in bliss, but on the perfect accomplishments of the very Son of God who created you?

Hello,
I’m not trying to convert anyone. I found this website by mistake and I read Kim’s blog about “The Wiccan”. A couple of paragraphs bothered me, specifically this one: “[j]ust recently i was talking with an IHOPian (who i am very concerned about because he is involved in this ministry) who told me that witches had put a curse on his house and had left a dead black cat on his property.”
Real Wiccans, who worship a God and Goddess, and who try to clean up and protect nature, would never, ever do that. I bet when the minister said, “put a curse on [my] house”, he meant that he couldn’t afford to pay for his house. I bet that he turned to his church members for money, right?
I think the pastor is either bored and acting as a ‘false witness’, or is assuming that “Witches” or “Wiccans” did that evil deed. Sounds to me like Satanists did what he described…….. Or even a bunch of gothic teenagers who are trying to stir up trouble.
I am true to my faith and stories like the aforementioned bother me because it’s nonsense. Go talk to a real Wiccan or Pagan and ask him or her if they would ever do that. That’s like me asking a Christian if they like to touch little boys because that’s what Catholic priests love. (Obviously I know this isn’t true.)
People should learn about other religions before they make false accusations against them. I’m sure none of you have ever studied the religion of Wicca, nor have any of you ever read at least three chapters of a book dedicated to the teachings of Wicca.
If you did, I’m sure you’ll realize that Wicca/Paganism is not evil.
Furthermore, I keep posting here because questions are being asked.
I know that when I die my spirit will be going to a better place.

I justed wanted to follow up on your last comments.
“I bet when the minister said, “put a curse on [my] house”, he meant that he couldn’t afford to pay for his house. I bet that he turned to his church members for money, right?”
No your assumption is wrong. This person is Zack Hensley from IHOP. Also i have heard personal testimony that witches were attending the services there and praying at the altars and that there are many covens in the Kansas City area.
I have read quite a bit about Wicca since my encounter with the Wiccan who was in our area. Also in my studies i have learned about theosophy, gnostism, kabbalah, etc.
There are many common denominators among these belief systems, mainly being pantheism and/or panentheism. I believe Starhawk said something like ” We are all linked as one living organism.” , and that the Mother Goddess is the force behind the evolving universe.
There really is nothing new under the sun. Man has been trying to redefine God to his image since creation. He desires to be “special”, so the knowledge obtained by occult methods is just too compelling for him to ignore. All occult beliefs defy God and believe that self is divine. The lie the serpent told Eve in the garden has never changed. Eat from the tree of knowledge and you shall be as Gods. To turn away from God and to the serpent is evil.

A Pagan/Wiccan writes
Hi Kim,
I don’t really know much about Starhawk. My authors of choice are Scott Cunningham, Raymond Buckland, and the Farrar’s (sp?).
Every living thing on earth is created by the union of male and female, therefore, it isn’t far fetched to believe that our creators are also male and female (Goddess and God [a Lord and Lady]). Your ancestors believed in balance and they too worshipped a God and Goddess.
You wrote: “all occult beliefs defy God. . .” This is where you are wrong. We don’t defy God. Just because you hold one image of God doesn’t mean all other images are wrong.
Also, Paganism isn’t a “cult” or considered the “occult” nowadays. If you want to get technical, then Christianity could be considered the “occult” because it is unknown….. no one knows if it’s real or not……. its also “supernatural” because Jesus is “supernatural”.
When was the last time a snake spoke to you? Do you really believe a snake talked to Eve? Have you ever heard of any other account in your lifetime, or your parent’s lifetime, where an animal and/or snake talked to humans?
The evolution story, and especially “Noah’s Ark” story is hilarious! Something you’d find in a child’s fairytale LOL
So when did God create the dinosaurs? There’s no mention of them in your bible? Did your God create man after the dinosaurs roamed the earth? Ever heard of cavemen?
Finally, you mentioned that there are a lot of covens/witches in your area. —— God I hope so! For our way is the fastest growing religion in the USA and Europe (statistically speaking). People are finally using commonsense and opening their eyes as to (1) why the bible was written (answer: to keep a uniform set of laws people would follow); (2) they’re learning the true history of the Christian religion and are seeing that Christianity may be the “false religion” our ancestors warned us about (hence the killings, “witch” hunts, inquisitions, etc.).
Witches are finally coming out of the darkness Christianity put us in, and we are showing people we are the way, we are the truth, and we are the light. We “preach” nothing but goodness and use what little energy we have to heal and do good.
People are starting to see which religion is really the evil one when it comes to Paganism vs. Christianity. I guarantee you that in the future, your children’s children will be of our good ways.
So if you know a lot about Wiccan/Paganism, surely you can see why there are no evil bones in our body. The only time I hear people think Paganism/Wicca is evil, is when they are over the age of 60 and rely heavily on the outdated bible.

When one alters their conscious or conjures from the spirit world it is divination.. This is to cross over into forbidden territory. The Bible forbids this because when one “seeks” or uses occult methods they will get an occult result. On the other hand when God truly reveals himself to man through the Holy Spirit, it is indeed a holy and supernatural. This is God revealing himself to man, not man attempting to reach out.
Here is a definition of occult, from dictionary.com
1. of or pertaining to magic, astrology, or any system claiming use or knowledge of secret or supernatural powers or agencies.
2. beyond the range of ordinary knowledge or understanding; mysterious.
3. secret; disclosed or communicated only to the initiated.
4. hidden from view.
Because the Bible is a complete revelation of God to man, a Christian does not need to use magic or divination to learn the truth. The truth is open and not hidden for those who are truly seeking God.
Will paganism outgrow Christianity?.. Yes…in fact the Bible predicts that there will be a falling away from the faith and many will turn away from the Truth.
True Christianity has always been a minority but the Bible shows over and over again that He always reserves a remnant of believers. If the world is a horrible place to live, famine, greed, etc. it is because most all people have turned away from Jesus instead of following HIm. I suspect things in our world will get worse as the new spirituality takes effect.
“People are starting to see which religion is really the evil one when it comes to Paganism vs. Christianity. I guarantee you that in the future, your children’s children will be of our good ways.”
The Bible says that True Christians will be martyred and beheaded in the endtimes. Christians who will not “evolve” will be killed.

We don’t use magick or divination to learn the truth. I’m not sure I’m understanding you.
I am a Wiccan and I use magick but not to uncover any truths…. I use magick, in the form of prayer, when I want to ask my Lord and Lady to bless a person. Or, if I have a true need, I pray.
I use magick to help me or someone else get over an illness. I use special colors and scents to change my mood, this is also a form of magick.
I use magick to protect myself and family/friends from negative influences/energies……………………….. Other then that, I lean more towards the religious part of Wicca (note: not all Wiccans perform magick).
I still say Christianity can be refered to as “the occult” because it is “beyond the range of ordinary knowledge or understanding; mysterious.” If a child is born and raised without any knowledge of religion, he wouldn’t understand it unless if it was taught to him. Thus, if it were natural, the child would have learned it without being taught.
Furthermore, Christianity, like any other religion, is “mysterious” because it is not proven real. I know in my heart and soul my religion is real, which is why I follow it. (And this is the reason it is the fastest growing religion because people feel a sense of belonging when they find our ways).

You say you continue to post here because questions are being asked, and yet you barely acknowledge the import of those questions. Then you proceed to tell us how much faith you have in your Wiccan beliefs.
We know in our hearts and souls that our Christ is real. The sense of belonging we have is our mutual trust in the One Jesus Christ Who is a proven fact in history.
What are the true names of your Lord and Lady?

Hi Kim,
I know who Aleister Crowley is. I don’t know much about him though. I spell magick with a “k” to distinguish it from stage magic. This, however, is not what all Pagans/Wiccans do.
If you’re interested, I asked my nephew to upload an explanation I wrote on Magick to his website that you can read. Hopefully it will explain the theories and concepts behind natural magick. I had to use his website because I don’t have one. Go here:

Hi NWProdigal,
I have answered your questions. I am very faithful towards my beliefs. I’m interested in learning of other beliefs. I’m curious as to how other people define and worship God. Again, you’re not wrong for worshipping and viewing God in the way that you do….. neither am I. I’m not trying to convert, or anything like that. I think all religions could learn something from one another.
Since I believe all Gods are one God, just different manifestations of the One, then I acknowledge they have gone by many names throughout history of man. To keep it simple, I simply refer to them as either Lord and Lady, or God and Goddess. Some people who follow my path use specific names, such as Brigid, Diana, Aradia, etc. (Names that our ancestors used to represent the Almighty). I even know of a lot of Pagans who use the names “Jesus” and “Mary”. This helps them focus their prayers easily.
You wrote, “. . . Jesus Christ Who is a proven fact in history.” —– I’m sure hundreds of people were called “Jesus Christ”. I’m sure a man by the name of “Jesus Christ” was crucified, as were thousands of other people.
There is no actual proof in histroy that Jesus Christ was a God-man, or the Son of God. Don’t you think if history actually proved this beyond a reasonable doubt, everyone would be worshipping him?
A book was written many years ago with the intention of creating a set of laws everyone would have to live by. To make it worthwhile for the people of the world of that time, they made it into a religious book and its’ editors claimed is was the words of God. And all those who didn’t follow the book of law, were punished by death.
I think the bible was a wonderful idea. I really do! Because it taught people right from wrong. The first bible never mentioned anything about killing witches or anything like that. Those laws were obviously written by future bible editors who feared what they did not know.
Nowadays, the law’s found in the bible are obsolete. We now have man made laws that were created thanks to the bible. The old laws that were written in the bible that are ridiculous, such as killing non-believers, etc. are not valid, enforceable, laws.
Is the bible the word of God? No way! Commonsense will tell you that. Think of ‘Noah’s Ark’ and the evolution story found in the bible. It makes a good fairytale but isn’t reality.

Aleister Crowley is known as the most evil man on earth. He outwardly claimed to serve his Lord..Satan. He also claimed that the White Magick New Agers were serving the same God he was.
“Crowley added a “k”, “Magick”, to distinguish it from the magician who entertains an audience with tricks and illusions”
hmmm…didn’t you say something to this effect?

After posting what I wrote to you, I did some research on Aleister Crowley. No where did I read that he claimed he was evil or worshipped Satan. Can you direct me to some information that proves your statement? I can’t find anything about it.
Also, if Crowley was evil, how does that make me, or other Pagans/Wiccans evil if we adopted the term “magick” spelt with a “k”? And furthermore, if you did your research correctly, Crowley never said he was a Pagan or a Wiccan. If he was worshipping Satan, as you claim, then he was a satanists…….. there’s a big difference.
So a Christian priest loves little boys and was found guilty of molesting a few hundred, does that make you a “little boy lover”? Obviously not. See my point, Kim?

Alot of his practices (i.e., sexual ceremonies, bisexual rituals, black magic, etc.) have nothing to do with Paganism. That’s like me mixing up an Islamic religion with Christianity —- A Satanic religion’s thoughts, beliefs, and practices are completely different than that of the Pagan religion. — Just like an Islamic religion is completely different in thoughts, beliefs, and practices from the Christian religion. —
Just because we use a similar word (magick) doesn’t mean we follow his beliefs. And again, it is my preference…….. not all Pagans/Wiccans agree with me.

Truly, i am drawn to those i fellowship with in Jesus Christ. My burden is for the church which is being inundated with false spiritualities. I wish to warn those in the church who may follow the deceit being taught. Contemplative prayer, eastern thought and meditation, all metaphysics bring the person into contact with the unknown spirit world. The lie is that that we are divine and as gods. Spirit guides are not friendly world helpers. They are guides of deceit leading one to be initiated into the New World Order.
True regenerate Christians would not torture, although i know you do not want to believe this. Many came acting in the name of Christ but did not ever know HIm. There will be more that will claim to come in His name, or claim to be Jesus… in the future, but instead will be counterfeits. These counterfeits…the people will follow.
Jesus will return soon in the clouds in glory in the sameway He ascended after He was resurrected from the dead. Will you be ready?

You have expressed all the various and common reasons people reject the Bible, but i still wonder why..why is it that so deep in your soul..that you reject the God of the Bible, the God of Israel, and the God of the Patriarchs….what are you truly thinking…are you thinking for yourself… or is it the spirit inside you that mocks Jesus…..
But here is what i am asking. When you refer to yourself as pagan..do you mean…
One who rejects the God of the Bible or one who believes in many Gods, or both?
