These quotes are from Ray Yungen who wrote two of my favorite books, “A Time of Departing” and “For Many Shall Come In My Name” Theses books identify new-age movement in the church and the increase of seducing mysticism.
“Interspirituality is the cross-pollination of religious traditions. It is the blending of esoteric practices from different religions while still identifying with one’s own religion.”
“For instance, it is the belief that one can be a “better Christian” when one practices Buddist Meditation.”
Watch this video for elaboration.
Next this an important video from Warren Smith who wrote “Reinventingjesuschrist.”
The church needs to renew its commitment to the Bible and start using words like sin, repentance, and obedience. The emergent church dismisses sin, with a wave of the hand. But this is self-deception. Jesus died on the cross because we are sinners. Anything that eliminates the need for the cross is an enemy of God.

I posted this at a few other sites, thought I’d share here as well……
Good Morning All,
Well, I just wanted to write and tell you about a service that I went to last night at the local Evangelical Community Church… if you can call it a service.
My wife and I met my daughter and our little Hannah to this church to an advertised (local Christian radio station) NOW! (Night Of Worship) Concert. This is the advertisement that was at the church site;
Quote
Join us for a wonderful Night Of Worship Concert, Friday, August 21st from 7-9 pm here at New Hope Church! This fun evening will include worship and special music from New Hope’s Worship Team as well as Bend area Christian artists. Mark your calendars and invite your friends!
As this worship concert began a whole complete worship team set up on the plateform, drummer in the middle with a “worship” choir split on both sides of the drummer, keyboard and bass player on the left and then guitarist on the right. Special lighting and the whole nine yards with special pictures being shown on the two big screens in the building.
1st song by the worship group was a secular (non-christian song), 2nd song was a song that was done by Switchfoot, but wasn’t much of a song about Jesus, 3rd song was some western flavored song that did have some overtones of faith and spirituality (not sure whose spirituality) then a video was shown called the Bullhorn by Rob Bell.
I tried to find this video on the web and couldn’t but I did find this;
http://galatiansc4v16.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/video-response-to-rob-bells-bullhorn-guy-excellently-done-todd/ and this;
http://teampyro.blogspot.com/2007/11/bullwhip-guy.html
In the first video there is a man sitting on a bench and his script is almost identical to that of the one I heard at the church. I was offended as I watched, then one of the singers came out to the center of the platform, read something out of Exodus and then began to peform a song. As I watched I felt sick as she brought total attention to herself as she “PERFORMED” at which time I leaned over to my wife and said, “When you get tired of this show, come outside, I’ll be waiting to go home.” About 3 minutes later both her and my daughter came out and we left the church.
My wife had walked out earlier to talk to someone about whether or not this was suppose to be a time of worship as well and the response was, “This is a concert, with some congregational response intermixed. It wasn’t at all what it was advertised to be and it certainly was not a “worship” time in the church. As I sat there for the short time that I did, I had an empty feeling realizing that there was not a proper spirit in the place, I was saddened, offended, and angry all at the same time.
Solution: I came home got my guitar out and worshiped with my family….
I guess I should have known better, this is a total Rick Warren/Bill Hybel model church. I have always felt that the more PDL (Purpose Driven) a church gets it will naturally evolve into an Emergent. I think I am right, as I have seen two church’s now, big ones here in the community fall to this heretical theology.
God forgive them and I pray that they will “see” their error and return to the Word of God in truth.

UPDATE: I found that the actual video I wanted to find is from here and is purchasable. Don’t it all is bad…NOOMA is a series of short films produced by Flannel promoting spiritual perspectives on individual life experiences. The first series features storyteller Rob Bell. The name NOOMA comes from a phonetic spelling of the Greek word pneuma meaning ‘wind,’ ‘spirit,’ or ‘breath.’

Hi Tim,
What a awful experience at this church. This indeed is not worship in spirit and truth. I believe that my cousin and his wife attend this church so I need to pray for them. This concert sounds just like behavior of the world instead of the church.
Maybe we should send in Dave Hunt from The Berean Call over there to wake them up.
But thank you for writing about this. Some people just don’t realize what is happening to them until they read about false worship, and their eyes are opened when they recogize themselves.
Also U2 is being heavily promoted in the Willow Creek church. Bono has been seen on stage wearing an upside down cross. Yet…..he performs in the church of today….unbelievable.

Speaking of U2:
http://www.e4gr.org/u2charists/service.html
“Looking for a way to engage your congregation in the MDG’s and in new forms of worship? You’ve come to the right place. Perhaps you’ve heard about them on the news or by word of mouth. Perhaps, you are just now hearing about the U2charist. What is it?
“Since the last General Convention, it seems like everyone is wanting to hold a U2charist (a service of Holy Eucharist using the music of the Irish rock band U2) to raise awareness about the Millennium Development Goals.”

U2charist? I’m sorry, but that sounds highly irreverent and pretty much blasphemous to me.
(I just can’t seem to get over being such an old fuddy–duddy!!)

cheryl U.,
I agree (not to mention the pagan roots of the Eucharist/ Transubstantiation). On top of that, for any church to promote the U.N. Millennium Development Goals is alarming in and of itself. Not that the MDGs do not sound innocuous on the surface. It’s the New World Order/New Age agenda that concerns me.

TimH,
This emerging thing does seem to be really taking over. My sister has been telling me about the stuff that has been going on in the church where my Mom and Dad were members for the last umpty-nine years and where she has attended part of the time. It probably was in the past the most conservative and, we all believed, the most Biblically right on church in town. In the last few years, things have really changed there. And all of the older folks are really having fits!!
A few years ago they got a new Pastor. He had a quite strong bent to Toronto blessing type things. This was in a church that was not at all charismatic. Lifting your hands in worship or guitars in the worship service was almost more than some of the folks there could handle! He didn’t stick around long.
Now they have a new and very young Pastor in that seems to be trying to take the congregation down the emerging road. Worst of it is, it seems to be coming from the top of the denomination down if our understanding is correct. He brought in a new youth worker too.
One of the latest things that have folks really upset around there is the back to school concert that the church organized for the youth in town. They were having two bands in. Both of the bands names spoke of anything but being Christian. My sister said that people had tried to find info on these bands online. The one with the worst name, they didn’t find anything on. The other was, I believe she said, a pop rock band.
And this is in a small rural town that is in most ways quite conservative. I miss my Mom and Dad greatly, but very frankly, I am glad they are not here to see what has happened to the church they loved, supported, and worked in for all of those many years.

Craig, I just looked at the link you posted.
Pagan music accompanies pagan rite…calling itself Christian….just lovely.
I hate to ask.
How much worse will it get?

Kim,
I’ve had this info (U2charist) for a while now as I was going to put it into an article last year with the working title “An Uncommon Communion.” This was in conjunction with the pope’s call for ecumenism around the Eucharist as I posted in a comment on the Toronto Deception a bit ago.

Kim and Cheryl,
It was something to behold. I have put together some information from this site and Bob DeWaays because I know I am going to be asked why we left. My immediate supervisor and her husband go to that church and they saw me walk out and not return and then watched my wife and daughter leave. I am really surprised at the fact that they showed the video ( http://heartcry.me.uk/2009/08/147/ you can see it here) because last year they had an apologetics conference where the head speaker was asked about the Emergent Church and he said it had theological problems. But then I know this man also abides to spiritual formation which is a big thing in the Emergent, so he must not have to many problems with it.

That is one deceived person in that video. I commented on that site. The new-age Jesus is one who is only love, is not a judge, has no wrath, only comes in peace, does not condemn sin or require repentance. This new Jesus will indeed, send people to hell, only the emergents will not be expecting this sad turn of events.

Yes, deception at it’s best… with that kind of preaching why would I even need Christianity. I can get (love, is not a judge, has no wrath, only comes in peace, does not condemn sin or require repentance. ) all of this from any type of religion.
As the word says, “tickle the ears” it does that indeed…
