“Oprah and Friends” To Teach Course on New Age Christ
By Warren Smith
Oprah Winfrey will be letting out all the stops on her XM Satellite Radio program this coming year. Beginning January 1, 2008, “Oprah & Friends” will offer a year-long course on the New Age teachings of A Course in Miracles .1 A lesson a day throughout the year will completely cover the 365 lessons from the Course in Miracles “Workbook.” For example, Lesson #29 asks you to go through your day affirming that “God is in everything I see.”2 Lesson #61 tells each person to repeat the affirmation “I am the light of the world.” 3 Lesson #70 teaches the student to say and believe “My salvation comes from me.”4
By the end of the year, “Oprah & Friends” listeners will have completed all of the lessons laid out in the Course in Miracles Workbook. Those who finish the Course will have a wholly redefined spiritual mindset — a New Age worldview that includes the belief that there is no sin, no evil, no devil, and that God is “in” everyone and everything. A Course in Miracles teaches its students to rethink everything they believe about God and life. The Course Workbook bluntly states: “This is a course in mind training”5 and is dedicated to “thought reversal.”6
Teaching A Course in Miracles will be Oprah’s longtime friend and special XM Satellite Radio reporter Marianne Williamson, who also happens to be one of today’s premier New Age leaders. She and Conversations with God author Neale Donald Walsch co-founded the American Renaissance Alliance in 1997, that later became the Global Renaissance Alliance of New Age leaders, that changed its name again in 2005 to the Peace Alliance . This Peace Alliance seeks to usher in an era of global peace founded on the principles of a New Age/New Spirituality that they are now referring to as a “civil rights movement for the soul.”7 They all agree that the principles of this New Age/New Spirituality are clearly articulated in A Course in Miracles, which is fast becoming the New Age Bible. So what is A Course in Miracles and what does it teach?
A Course in Miracles is allegedly “new revelation” from “Jesus” to help humanity work through these troubled times. This “Jesus” — who bears no doctrinal resemblance to the Bible’s Jesus Christ — began delivering his channeled teachings in 1965 to a Columbia University Professor of Medical Psychology by the name of Helen Schucman. One day Schucman heard an “inner voice” stating, “This is a course in miracles. Please take notes.”8 For seven years she diligently took spiritual dictation from this inner voice that described himself as “Jesus.” A Course in Miracles was quietly published in 1975 by the Foundation for Inner Peace. For many years “the Course” was an underground cult classic for New Age seekers who studied “the Course” individually, with friends, or in small study groups.
As a former New Age follower and devoted student of A Course in Miracles , I eventually discovered that the Course in Miracles was, in reality, the truth of the Bible turned upside down. Not having a true understanding of the Bible at the time of my involvement, I was led to believe that A Course in Miracles was “a gift form God” to help everyone understand the “real” meaning of the Bible and to help bring peace to the world. Little did I know that the New Age “Christ” and the New Age teachings of A Course in Miracles were everything the real Jesus Christ warned us to watch out for. In Matthew 24 Jesus warned about false teachers, false teachings and the false “Christs” who would pretend to be Him.
When I left the New Age “Christ” to follow the Bible’s Jesus Christ, I had come to understand that the “Jesus” of A Course in Miracles was a false “Christ,” and that his Course in Miracles was dangerously deceptive. Here are some quotes from the “Jesus” of A Course in Miracles:
“There is no sin. . . “9
A “slain Christ has no meaning.” 10
“The journey to the cross should be the last ‘useless journey.'”11
“Do not make the pathetic error of ‘clinging to the old rugged cross.'”12
“The Name of Jesus Christ as such is but a symbol. . . . It is a symbol that is safely used as a replacement for the many names of all the gods to which you pray.” 13
“God is in everything I see.”14
“The recognition of God is the recognition of yourself.”15
“The oneness of the Creator and the creation is your wholeness, your sanity and your limitless power.” 16
“The Atonement is the final lesson he [man] need learn, for it teaches him that, never having sinned, he has no need of salvation.”17
Most Christians recognize that these teachings are the opposite of what the Bible teaches. In the Bible, Jesus Christ’s atoning death on the cross of Calvary was hardly a “useless journey.” His triumph on the cross provides salvation to all those who confess their sin, accept Him and follow Him as their Lord and Saviour. His victory on the cross rings throughout the New Testament. It has been gloriously sung about in beloved hymns through the ages and is at the heart of our Christian testimony. I found the Jesus of the Bible to be wholly believable as He taught God’s truth and warned about the spiritual deception that would come in His name. The “Jesus” of A Course in Miracles reveals himself to be an imposter when he blasphemes the true Jesus Christ by saying that a “slain Christ has no meaning” and that we are all “God” and that we are all “Christ.” It was by reading the Bible’s true teachings of Jesus Christ that I came to understand how deceived I had been by A Course in Miracles and my other New Age teachings.
I was introduced to A Course in Miracles by Dr. Gerald Jampolsky’s book Love is Letting Go of Fear. Jampolsky declared in his easy-to-read book how the teachings of A Course in Miracles had changed his life. As an ambassador for A Course in Miracles over the years, Jampolsky has been featured not only in New Age circles but at least twice on Robert Schuller’s Hour of Power. While Schuller introduced Jampolsky and his “fabulous” 18 Course in Miracles-based books to his worldwide television audience, it was Marianne Williamson’s appearance on a 1992 Oprah Winfrey Show that really shook the rafters.
On that program, Oprah enthusiastically endorsed Williamson’s book, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles. Oprah told her television audience that Williamson’s book about A Course in Miracles was one of her favorite books, and that she had already bought a thousand copies and would be handing them out to everyone in her studio audience. Oprah’s endorsement skyrocketed Williamson’s book about A Course in Miracles to the top of the New York Times bestseller list. Ironically, all of this was happening after I had left the Course and the New Age. In fact, I was doing the final editing on my book The Light That Was Dark that warned about the dangers of the New Age, and in particular A Course in Miracles.
After being introduced to the world on Oprah, Marianne Williamson has continued to grow in popularity and, as previously mentioned, has become one of today’s foremost New Age leaders. Williamson credits Winfrey for bringing her book about A Course in Miracles before the world: “For that, my deepest thanks to Oprah Winfrey. Her enthusiasm and generosity have given the book, and me, an audience we would never otherwise have had.”19 In her 2004 book, The Gift of Change, Williamson wrote: “Twenty years ago, I saw the guidance of the Course as key to changing one’s personal life; today, I see its guidance as key to changing the world. More than anything else, I see how deeply the two are connected.”20Thus the New Age teachings of A Course in Miracles are about to be taught by Marianne Williamson to millions of listeners on Oprah’s XM Satellite Radio program. Listeners are encouraged to buy A Course in Miracles for the year-long course. An audio version of A Course in Miracles recited by Richard (John Boy Walton) Thomas is also available on compact disc. Popular author Wayne Dyer told his PBS television audience that the “brilliant writing” of A Course in Miracles would produce more peace in the world.21 Williamson’s New Age colleague, Neale Donald Walsch, said his “God” stated that “the era of the Single Saviour is over”22 and that he (“God”) was responsible for authoring the teachings of A Course in Miracles.23 Meanwhile, Gerald Jampolsky’s Course in Miracles-based book, Forgiveness, continues to be sold in Robert Schuller’s Crystal Cathedral bookstore as Schuller prepares to host a January 17-19, 2008, “Rethink Conference” at his Crystal Cathedral.24
At this critical time in the history of the world, the New Gospel/New Spirituality is coming right at the world and the church with its New Age teachings and its New Age Peace Plan. But this New Age Peace Plan has at its deceptive core the bottom-line teaching from A Course in Miracles that “we are all one” because God is “in” everyone and everything. But the Bible is clear that we are not God (Ezekiel 28:2; Hosea 11:9). And per Galatians 3:26-28, our only oneness is in Jesus Christ, not in ourselves as “God” and “Christ.” What Oprah and Marianne Williamson and the world will learn one day is that humanity’s only real and lasting peace is with the true Jesus Christ who is described and quoted in the Holy Bible (Romans 5:1).
Oprah Winfrey’s misplaced faith in Marianne Williamson and the New Age teachings of A Course in Miracles is a sure sign of the times. But an even surer sign of the times is that most Christians are not taking heed to what is happening in the world and in the church. We are not contending for the faith as the Bible admonishes us to do (Jude 3). It is time for all of our Purpose-Driven and Emerging church pastors to address the real issue of the day. Our true Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is being reinvented, redefined, and blasphemed right in front of our eyes and hardly anyone seems to notice or care. If we want the world to know who Jesus Christ is, we need to also warn them about who He is not. There is a false New Age “Christ” making huge inroads into the world and into the church. The Apostle Paul said that “it is a shame” we have to even talk about these things, but talk about them we must (Ephesians 5:12-16).
If people want to follow Oprah Winfrey and the New Age “Christ” of A Course in Miracles they certainly have that right. But let them be warned that the New Age “Christ” they are following is not the same Jesus Christ who is so clearly and authoritatively presented in the pages of the Bible.

A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.
I would live to hear what Jesus has to say about this. In my conversations with him he helps me understand, I have yet to hear him condemn anyone and he hasn’t asked/instructed me to judge my brother and his activities.

If you want to hear what Jesus has to say about this read the New Testament. Jesus is the Word made flesh. The NT is replete with warnings of apostasy and unsound doctrine. A Course In Miracles is just that.
Regarding judging brothers/sisters, once again read the NT. We are not to judge hypocritically; but, we are to make sure that teachings line up with the Word. These do not.

Hallelujiah! I’m a Course discussion group facilitator in Las Vegas. I am so excited to see the Course come out into the light! You don’t have to give up your current religion to study the Course. The Course does not ask you to give up anything except what makes you feel fearful. You are a child of God. That makes us brothers and sisters. Let’s treat each other that way. Even when we’re wrong.
Peace!

I am sorry but ACIM is from the pit of Hell. It was telepathically dictated to a woman, Helen Schucman starting in 1965 and wasn’t published till 1975. The entity described itself as “jesus” and claimed that the Bible had mistakes and that this new version would correct them.
The above article has quotes that opposes everything that the Bible stands for. The course teaches that the opposite of love is fear, and this fear is an illusion based on wrong thinking.
Also it teaches that man’s only sin is not recognizing our divine nature. This is the same lie satan told in Genesis. “we shall be as gods”.
Many will buy into this lie, there is no doubt.

Oprah – you have far too big a following to allow this to take place.
I also started to take a Course in Miracles a long time ago. Fortunately what little I knew was enough to send me to diligently starting to read the Bible every day.
Regardless of your personal convictions, one must stop to think that the Bible is “God Breathed” and at least take the time to compare the two. You ARE getting your fame and fortune from a Christian country after all.
I would respectfully ask you to regretfully pull this program as soon as possible for whatever reason you deem best to announce.
Sincerely,
Karen Pendola

PS – I signed my name, address and phone number so you could see this was most definately not just following the crowd. If we feel strongly enough we ought to at least extend the courtesy to the recipeint of the note to give our personal information out.
My you have a God – Blessed New Year with much growth, love, and laughter.

My prayer is that anyone and everyone who is reading this stuff, will realize it is LIE of SATAN! This is not the truth..and I pray that God, HIMSELF will reveal that! This is from the devil, it’s meant to decieve and destroy lives and take people right straight to HELL. Please, please beware of this. I beg of you, go get the Bible out and read it. That is God’s NEVER CHANGING WORD to us. Please, please beware of this!

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
I CAN’T EXPRESS HOW DANGEROUS THIS NEW AGE THING IS. I PRAY THAT PEOPLE WILL TURN FROM IT AND THE TRUTH. SIN IS REAL. THE DEVIL IS REAL. AND SO ARE HEAVEN AND HELL AND IF WE CHOOSE NOT TO LIVE BY THE WORD OF GOD,,HELL WILL BE OUR ETERNAL DESTINATION. WE ARE WARNED IN GOD’S WORD THAT THESE THINGS WILL TAKE PLACE. THE ABOVE SCRIPTURE IS PROOF OF THAT. PEOPLE ARE TURNING AWAY FROM THE TRUTH TO LIVE THE WAY THEY WANT TO LIVE. AND WE CAN DO THAT..BUT, IF IT’S NOT GOD’S WAY,,IT’S A ROAD TO ETERNAL DAMNATION.

Ignorace becomes fear -fear becomes intolerance-intolerance becomes hate-hate becomes spiritual death.
Knowledge allays fear – tolerance becomes acceptance – acceptance becomes love. Love becomes peace. Peace – Be Still and Know That I AM.
Which way do you believe?
January 13, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Kim
“Which way do you believe?”
I believe the path you propose is not a true path to know God “I AM”.
Exd 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
What you propose is that Knowledge is the pathway to I AM, but one has to believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ to know his Father.
JOHN 14:6 says “I AM the way and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
If i had to select one of your sentences i select the first as being the most accurate, because not to know Jesus as Lord does keep one in spiritual death, which is an eternal decision.
To call upon the name of Jesus, to believe that He took your sins upon Himself, to have faith and follow Him is a true path to eternal peace, not found in this earthly world.

“Ignorance becomes fear”…..
Lani,
I am curious why you assume Kim is ignorant and fearful?
Because she has studied the new age movement and is unafraid to teach what the Bible says? That makes her ignorant?
What you assume about Kim -could that be true of you? Could it be that you are ignorant of what the Bible really teaches. That you are fearful that Kim might be right? That you might be intolerant to Jesus Christ and don’t want to hear what He really has to say? If this is true, which I would bet my life on, I would say I understand where you are coming from.
I thought the same way. Until I realized I was wrong. And Jesus, the real Jesus, was telling the truth because He is truth.
Blessings to you-

I think Oprah is better off not talking about religion rather then endorsing false religion. If she no longer wishes to be a Christian as it’s taught in the Bible, then that is her choice. I believe in freedom of religion. However, she has no right to distort the teachings of Christ. Wow, she used to be someone I looked up to. Not anymore. Jesus Christ is God Almighty.

I am shocked and saddened by These comments given by Miss Winfrey and her associates.
They are not Bible based and I for one will not listen to the heresy they are proclaiming.
Miss Winfrey would do well to
study the Bible for herself and not be swayed by the heresies taught by these so called knowledgable people she is following.
Christ is coming soon and I know he must be very saddened by the falsehoods she is swallowing leading the foolish people who are in her audience to to follow.

Oprah, I’ve admired you and the success you have attained since you left Nashville’s Channel 5 and I have been proud of you; but, you have now overstepped. You dont’ need more fame, you’ve done a world of good in so many places, but I’ll never watch your show again nor will anyone who believes the Bible is the Holy Word of God. We dont’ need people like Ms. Williamson to tell us what we know. Anyone reading her lessons who has any knowledge of God knows that it is blasphemy. Your problem and hers also, is that you don’t read and study God’s Word enough to know truth from fiction.
God was sad over Israel’s state of affairs and I know He must be shedding tears over you right now. Take this from your website, please. Your soul is important to me and to all who have loved you.

Oprah has done so much material good for so many people and for that I appreciate her. It’s not often that we see people with so much give so much to others who have great need. However, this is an atrocity!!! So many look up to her and for her to use her influence to this new age end is a slap in the Face Of Almighty God. May He have mercy on her soul and the souls of all those she leads astray with her promotion of this “course in miracles”.

To all the christians and saints out there reading this, we know that Jesus Christ is real and the only thing we MUST do is pray for Oprah and Marianne and all the followers who believes in this new age religion, that they find salvation in Jesus Christ the Savior. According to the Word of God we knew that there are going to be false gods, so let’s not be shocked, upset, or discouraged. Let’s put on our armour (the word of God) and interceed and pray. Because the battle is not ours it’s the Lord and he’s already defeated the enemy.
And to Oprah or Marianne,
If your reading this or someone tells you guys about what’s being said, all I have to say to you is try THE REAL JESUS. And PLEASE! PLEASE! (i’m begging you) read the Bible for yourself, give it a chance before you MAKE UP your own.
thanks,
and love to all

Oh my – Oprah you have gone to far this time. I am so disappointed and angry with you. I cannot believe you have attached your name and face to this piece of trash. I will NEVER again watch your program or listen to your voice. Not only am I gone so is all my address book and it is not small. You just lost all your appeal and every good thing you have ever done. The real GOD may take you to task. By the way is Omaha with you on this one? Don’t think he is someone I want for a president. Association has its problems does it not?

Christians (followers of the true Jesus of the Bible), we need to make copies of this article to put in our churches, forward this article to everyone we can, to get the truth out and not be complacent. This is huge potential victory for the enemy of our souls, of every soul! If there was any other way to eternal life, Jesus would not have gone to the cross and spilled His blood and given His life for our transgressions. This course is a great deception! Lets not take it lying down .

Paul says in Ephesians 6:12 ” for we wrestle not against flesh and blood
{ Opray, Marianne} but against principalities and powers…..” Indeed the powers of darkness that are deceiving them are powerful. They are teaching demons whose’s specific job is to deceive first leaders in high positions and then through them the mulitutes of gullible people who have ‘” itching ears and heap up for themselves teachers, and will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” 12 Tim 4:3.
Our response is to fight in the Heavenly realm against the spirits of wickedness. How do we do this? Take “our weapons of war that are not carnal, but might in God for pulling down spiritual strongholds, casting down arguements and every high thing that exhalts itself against the knowledge of God…” 2 Cor 10:4-5.
The Sword of the Spirit of God tells us in Matt 12:29 ” or else how can we enter a strongman’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strongman? and then he will plunder his house.”
The Word also says in Matt 16:19 ” and I will give you the keys of the Kingdom and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loose in Heaven.”
Fellow Christian warriors we must declare war against these foul spirits and pray the the Commander of the Lord’s Armies will assail the strongholds in Opray’s mind and release her to see and hear the Truth. We must ask that gullible Christians be protected from this apostacy.
I believe we are in the Last Days and the Word speaks about a great falling away from the Faith. 2 Thess 2:3. so we should not be surprised at this or the Emerging Church.
Our duty is to interceed before the Throne of our Lord Jesus Christ that His mercy and love will prevail. Leonard Ravenhill a great warrior for God said
” Prayer is not the preparation for battle; It is the Battle.”

It’s not too late to join the millions of people from around the globe who have experienced Oprah and Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth classes. They’re transforming their lives, and so can you!
You won’t want to miss tonight’s class with special guest Jenny McCarthy.

I knew there was a reason why I didn’t like watching Oprah. Tho I am guilty of watching her show a couple of times to see Celine Dion and one other person I can’t even remember who, it was sooo long ago.
Oprah, you had better watch with a discerning heart what is happening to you.
If you have even the slightest of Faith in the ONE TRUE GOD you will see that this cult type stuff you are dabbling in is dangerous. God’s Book warns us of people like you and your followers.
We are not to take away or add to His WORD and to do so there will be severe punishment.
I am praying for you.

Trisha,
If this is for me thanks for the prayers but I don’t watch Oprah. I recieved this bulk mail in my yahoo e-mail. Not sure how she got the address unless ( a very long, long time ago) we registered for something but most likely not since it came in the bulk mail folder of an address site that is not ,ore than a couple of years old, and it is her attempt to suck people in to watch this junk.
It was a mass attempt at advertising and then hooking you with the other language used by the prophetic type “BREALTHROUGH”.
Kind of scary to think that it is so easy for her to get the word out so easily….

Well, if you follow this story at all, this person is from my home town and this person is a women who had a gender change to be a man. I am not sure why this story is being shown. The person has a uterus and if you stop taking any drugs to keep you from getting pregnant, it is going to happen.
Google “pregnant man” and you’ll get all sorts of hits on this story. This person IS NOT a man.
ABC NEWS quote:
“Thomas Beatie, who used to be a woman, appeared in the most recent issue of The Advocate, a magazine for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender readers.

We walk by FAITH not by SIGHT.
How DARE she speak of my Jesus that way.
If ALL who followed her walk by and spit on my bible. I will wipe that bible off and carry it home.
He Forgives, He loves, he is beautiful. he is Jesus.
Oprah is not.
He can HEAL,
Oprah can not.
He is the TRUTH.
Oprah is not.
He carried the cross.
Oprah did not.
He rose from the DEAD.
Oprah did not.
He died for our sins (Even Oprah’s)
Oprah has not.
She spoke of prayer.
who does she pray to if not Jesus? Herself?
Jesus is my life.
And I believe.

Someone in the media is catching the absurdity of Oprah

Thanks to Lavrai for posting this link on Living Journey’s blog about alien abductions:
http://www.parentcompany.com/great_flying_saucer_myth/tgfsmtoc.htm
This is the table of contents. If you read about some of the testimonies of alien abductions -you’ll find a striking similarity to Oprah’s course in miracles. The aliens want to teach us hidden mysteries same as Oprah’s friends who channel spirits. surprise surprise. Oprah may have some tough competition and her friends may be out of a job. The aliens just might beat Oprah to the punch.

ofcourse I don’t mean to make light of this. It is deeply disturbing and the thought of this great demonic deception that will fall on mankind is too tragic to think about. I hope some people who have posted on this thread who support the Course in Miracles would be shaken and wake up.

Mary,
In 1969 i saw a flying saucer. Me and a girlfriend were walking down a neighborhood street at night and we heard a “whirring” sound. We looked up and saw this huge saucer spinning above us. It was beautiful. The colors melted into each other as it spun and the base was surrounded with windows. We watched it for awhile and then it suddenly disappeared.
It was not until 2 years ago, i discovered the truth. I told my story to a friend who knows about familiar spirits. He told me that it was an illusion or a controlled experience. That is when i learned that UFOs are fallen demons or familiar spirits.
After an extended dialogue it came out that me and my friend had just used a Ouija board and had contacted a spirit. So we probably invited or opened ourselves up for the visitation. Nothing ever came of the sighting but for the longest time i believed it to be a beautiful experience. Had i not learned different i would have been set up for deception.

Kim, that’s an amazing story. Thank the Lord you came across someone who knew what they were talking about and could help you see through the deception.

Here is an alien account:
” Ashtar – lists nine points for mankind to follow which contain many ideas taken from scriptural concepts. Central is the idea that each person must seek within for his higher self in order to blend his consciousness with the over-consciousness of the universe. Ashtar claims to be a being of light, yet refers to the evolution of the galaxies, the planets, and life. He speaks of God as Creator and affirms that we must learn to love our Creator.”

“He was asked to give up all he was doing to become a missionary. In actuality he was asked to become a messiah. He was going to be given the power to heal, and the power to present his message and convince people. To this day because of his refusal to go into religious work, this man wonders if he did the right thing telling Ashtar to leave.”
wow. It’s all so similar.

Hi Mary and Kim. Came here to snag Lee’s “Statement of Faith” (she said I could) and saw this thread. I have an idea as to why so many are being led astray based on many long conversations with believers and non-believers over the last couple years. It all comes down to knowledge of God’s Word.
Starting with non-believers who believe in nothing, so will fall for anything, moving up to Christians that have never cracked the spine on their Bibles, continuing up the chain to me, well read – but losing my way by letting preachers tell me the Word. I’ve only recently broke free from the “Word of Faith” crowd and have to start over because, after 10 years, I don’t know what is truth anymore as opposed to what I was told was truth over and over until my understanding of scripture was as twisted as theirs.
Kim, thanks for sharing about your ufo experience. I have a theory that there will be a lot of ufo sightings before the rapture, and then everyone left will say aliens got us. 🙂

Laura S,
I am humbled that you would ‘snag’ my ‘Statement of Faith.’ However, I want to point out that permission was already granted in my opening comments on the statement:
You may borrow parts of this or even copy this outright.
May the LORD be with you in quest to unlearn the false doctrine of the Word of Faith heretics.

Laura S,
There are many new-agers that are teaching that a “cleansing will occur on the earth”. A chief person teaching this is Barbara Marx Hubbard who is well accepted in many political circles.
Her new-age “christ” told her:
Out of the full spectrum of human personality, one-fourth is electing to transcend… One-fourth is destructive…they are defective seeds. In the past they were permitted to die a ‘natural death’. …Now as we approach the quantum shift from the creature-human to the co-creative human – the human who is an inheritor of god-like powers – the destructive one-fourth must be eliminated from the social body. …Fortunately, you are not responsible for this act, we are. We are in charge of God’s selection process for the planet Earth. He selects, we destroy. We are the riders of the pale horse, Death”.
What is scary are the parallels between Kingdom Now theololgy, that the world has to be Christianized before Christ can return, and the new-age Christ consciousness, that will merge souls as one.
Hubbard tells us about aliens:
“You should know now that there are no aliens in the universe. They are Sons and Daughters of God at various stages of evolution. Yes, they are different – diverse beyond your present capacity to imagine – but they are not alien.”
She teaches that we have to evolve or perish, and that one-fourth of the population who will not be enlightened will be cleased from the earth.
https://kimolsen.wordpress.com/2008/05/02/church-vision-and-the-new-age/
So there are new-age theories being floated that will explain away the rapture when it happens.

Lee,
I thank you for allowing me to use a large part of your “Statement of Faith”. I was alluding to your permission when I said (“she said I could”), and apologize for using the word “snag”.
Kim,
A scary trend I’m seeing in off-hand conversation with non-believers is this notion of over-population, and the need for something to be done about it. I understand they are reading these things in books and online, so I appreciate the link.
First time I heard it, it was from someone who saw everything as a conspiracy, so didn’t think much of it. But now, the subject is cropping up in unusual places. In a PBS story I watched about gas and energy, a professor spoke of the need for 1/3 of the population to be wiped out to save our planet. Not to save us, to save the planet. I got a chill.

Laura,
No offense taken!
While I have heard about the ‘need’ for population reduction, I did not think it was becoming as pervasive as you’re describing. Scary indeed!

Jesus said “be sober let no man deceive you.” Oprah knows it deep down

Maybe the question should be why are we so easily deceived? Things haven’t change the same type of thinking that was going on in the 60’s and 70’s is still going on only it has gotten more exposure. In my opinion if we would spend just as much or more time in the word we would know the antidote to these things. I prefer to trust God to keep me than to worry about being caught up in the things. How what the scriptures say no to listen see Lev 19 notice that practising these things leads to us being defiled.
