Since we have been researching occult channelers let us now take a look at Helen Schucman. Born 1909, she wrote “A Course of Miracles” over a period of 7 years which was dictated to her from an inner voice who identified itself as “Jesus”. This Jesus said he was going to correct errors in the Bible. The “Course” says sin does not exist so there is not a need for forgiveness which entice those who want to be called Christians but do not want to give up their sin. How convenient. The Course teaches that fear is an illusion and that all is love..
Jesus is according to this book “an elder brother entitled to respect for his greater experience, but he is one of many Christs, and we all have the ability to become as Gods.”
This pattern always develops. There are many ways to God, God is in us, we are God. This basic message is the same as the other channeled messages received from various entities from the spirit world. The world needs to be enlightened and more spiritually evolved to progress to the next plane. When there is contact with the spirit world the content is always anti-christian. The Christian terminology can be deceiving so one has to compare these messages with the Word of God.
Here are some quotes from “A Course in Miracles” by this “Jesus”.
“There is no sin; it has no consequence.” workbook pg 183
“The Atonement (at-one-ment) is the final lesson he (man) need learn, for it teaches him that, never having sinned, he has no need of salvation.” text pg.237
“Do not make the pathetic error of ‘clinging to the old rugged cross’. The only message of the crucifixion is that you can overcome the cross. Until then you are free to crucify yourself as often as you choose. This is not the Gospel I intended to offer you.” text pg.52
“The mind can make the belief in separation very real and very fearful, and this belief is the devil.” text pg.50
“Atoning means undoing. The undoing of fear is an essential part of the atonement value of miracles.” text p.5
I selected a few quotes regarding fear which I will address later.
“A Course in Miracles” according to Warren Smith in “Reinventing Jesus Christ”:
“During the 1980’s the Course gained a grassroots following of dedicated believers…and interest grew in the Course and it became a cult classic for those in the know. Yet even as word spread, the Course still remained relatively unknown to the general public.”
Enter Marianne Williamson. After reading her story, she seemed to be quite troubled. She then wrote her book “A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles”. She appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 1992, and Williamson’s book soared to the top of The New York Times bestseller list. The miracle was reawakened.
Here is are some quotes from “A Return to Love”:
“Jesus and other enlightened masters are our evolutionary elder brothers” pg.42
“We are who God created us to be. We are all one, we are love itself. ‘Accepting the Christ’ is merely a shift in self-perception.”
It has long been known that Oprah constantly features New Age promoters on her show. This has exposed millions of women (and men), to New Age philosophy. New Age philosophy is Theosophy which translates Divine Wisdom. This has caused extreme damage to the true Church of Christ. Many women just automatically believe what Oprah has to offer up without question. When Oprah had Williamson on her show neither suggested that the “Jesus” they were referring was a different Jesus than we know of in the Bible. When Williamson was asked: Was Jesus the only Son of God?, her answer was “Hogwash”.
http://beliefnet.com/story/120/story_12052_1.html
I want to go back to the statements that Schucman’s “Jesus” made about fear. I have noticed that many messages channeled to mediums, concern the overcoming of fear. I was reading about a women’s journey going through the 7 chakras (levels) of yoga and her “spirit guide” (demon). At every level she faced extreme fear and anxiety, but her demon guide led her through the fear, saying it was evil, so she would advance to the next phase of enlightenment. I have to believe that this fear was her conscious telling her to stop. But she didn’t. The compulsion of wanting to become enlightened or to have special knowledge is a heady pull into mysticism.
What a sad day it will be for those who find out too late that they are not embracing the Holy Spirit but the fallen angels from the dark side, bent on deceiving them. They are listening to the lies of the serpent, which can be traced back to the Garden of Eden…that lie is that you can be like God…

Discernment is knowing where GOD is and where He is not. All Christ-Followers have discernment, but are they using it? Are they practicing it?
In James it says we are to ‘resist the devil and he will flee from us.’. How can we resist unless we can ‘see’ the devil? This is why we need to discern in all things.
Hebrews 5:14 says they inorder to know good from evil we much ‘practice’ discernment.
Gordon T. Smith in his book ‘The Voice of Jesus: Discernment, Prayer, and the Witness of the Spirit’ says discernment takes 3 things:
1) Humilty & Awe
2) Receptivity
3) Skill or Practice
We need to align ourselves in GOD’s will, this takes humilty. GOD always initiates, we respond. Do we respond (receive) with eagerness? Or, do we choose to ignore the call from GOD to our heart? And, we must know GOD’s Word AND live it thru the Spirit. In James 1 it says if we ask for wisdom from GOD, He will give it to us. But, what does He gives us? I believe GOD gives us more ‘practice’ by way of trials. We say ‘GOD, give me wisdom’. GOD knows are heart/mind/spirit and says, ‘You want wisdom, okay. Today you will practice patience because you don’t have enough of it.’ Or, for someone else He will say today you will practice self-control. He then allows this ‘practice’ thru the trials of suffering with difficult people, etc.. He does this not to harm us, but to teach us. GOD does not give us wisdom as we ‘get’ something. A better way to say it is GOD ‘grows’ wisdom in us.
Blessings.

Yes i believe we do need to let go of our own will and follow God’s will. This does take humility because we always want to do things our way.
True..so true. God may send us trials to teach us or allow us suffering in order to train us. Sometimes our will needs to be broken so we will totally lean on him.
The story of Joseph fascinates me because of his unmerited suffering. He never complained when he was thrown into the pit by his hateful brothers or when he was wrongly imprisoned. Paul says in Romans 5:3-5 that we glory in trials because they result in experience.
Even though Joseph did not understand why these things were happening to him, he kept his utter faith in God. Over and over again in Genesis 39, it says that the Lord was with Joseph. By studying Joseph, we can take heart when we face hard and uncertain times.

(UUNIS.org is still not yet up but I have had my working site at xgenei.onlinestoragesolution.com. The home page is already six months out of date. If you scroll down you will find a link to version 1 of my *the map of everything* site (last update Jan 2006). If you try to find the Latter Days pdf download there — I guarantee you will find something priceless — (true whether you like things that are priceless or not.)
Kim (kim) you’re really casting stones. Where is the clear vision you suppose, to be pointing out slivers in another’s eye. Your doctrine is orthodoxy. Jesus did not teach it. Paul taught it. Yours is a narrow segment of the clockwork orange (I love that phrase). There are three very different Christian schools and in your comfort, you are a product of one. Are they ALL confused because they are separate? You bet. You are a Paulist, criticizing a new age “Gnostic” (John-ist). Gnostics get a medal for confusion for reasons of dispensation — For example: an orthodox Peter-ist, whose dispensation was until Luthor, would sooner see his competitors strangled. Think I’m exaggerating? (They used to do that in Italy.)
All three orthodoxies have the same Christ. One day these three churches will have a common understanding. It has been sworn to (Rev 10). Read Daniel 7 with this in mind: the part about the three horns, then get back to me if you want, after you complete this assignment.
I don’t do smiley faces and I don’t like ‘girls.’ So “be a man” if you want to be included — or catch you on the rebound.

JCAD,
Jesus most assuredly did teach orthodoxy. Where do you get the notion He didn’t?
I’m not sure I understand the point of your comment. Kim’s post is very clear — New Age teachings do not line up with orthodox Christianity.

The posters (Kim) description of “A Course in Miracles” is so drastically incorrect that it’s laughable. The Course is pure love and the teachings regarding sin, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, atonement and salvation have resonated at the core of millions of people. To not read something and then discredit it, only discredits the poster.
A real shame.
Marianne Williamson based her work on the Course and Jesus was NOT the only child/son of God. LOL.
Many blessings to you all.
If you want to understand something – study it. If you want to scare people with false-truths, then continue along your path.

Dan,
I do have the book, A Course In Miracles, and I have read it. So I am sorry but your presumptions are incorrect.
The teachings are opposed to the Bible and I am a Bible believing Christian. If the teachings reasonate to millions of people it is because they prefer not to admit that they are sinners, and that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. Following the crowd can lead you right off of a cliff.
Yes this does scare people because they do not want to give up their sin, and want to believe that sin is an illusion, there is no sin……
Truth can be found in scripture in the Holy Bible and by prayer. If one truly seek Gods and calls on His name, the Lord will answer. Read the Bible to find the answers to life.
When i was reading “A Course in Miracles” i prayed for protection from God first, because i realized that i reading the very words from the enemy of God. The book was “channeled” by an unbeliever.

I love the course, it has given me peace for the 1st time in many years. I believe we should go within and have our own experience, I did that, My Spirit recognizes truth. It has inspired me to help people, and I have been able to let go of many obsessive behaviors. People ask me what has happened to me, they see a wonderful change in me. More importantly, my own son has noticed and told me a peace comes over him every time he’s around me. What a gift. I finally saw a direct link to my fear was from judging others, mostly in my mind, the judgement is gone, the fear is gone, and in its place is love and compassion for all. Maybe its not real, It doesn’t matter to me, I’ve bought into it fully, and its saved my life. Please look at the fruit it produces

Something is wrong if you do not care if it is not real…..this is a “if it feels good ..do it”, new age attitude. (from the 70’s)
The Bible teaches that going within is dangerous….because Jeremiah 17:9 says “The heart is deceitful above all things…”
The course teaches a different Jesus than the one of the Bible…
“For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” 2 Cor 11:4
If you are listening or heeding a spirit other than the Holy Spirit then you are on dangerous ground. You have bought into false teachings.
Jesus wants this:
“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me….What good will it be for man if he gains the whole world yet forfeits his soul?”
Matthew 16:24,26
Also “The Course” teaches that sin has no consequence…
Jesus came to save us from our sin…so the teachings of this book eliminate the need for a Savior, and so there is no need for Jesus. Dangerous thinking, with eternal consequences.

Things of the world do not matter to me. The course doesn’t need defending, by me or anyone else it stands on its own, as does the Bible. Does it not matter to you that this course has given myself and many others peace? Does it not matter to you that this course has saved me from suicidal thoughts? Does it not matter to you that this course has inspired me to go out and help people like myself who were hopelessly addicted to alcohol and drugs? Does it not matter to you that my alcohol problem has been removed due to the course and alcoholics anonymous? Some consequences eh? as I mentioned in my above post, please look at the fruit before you judge. What would Jesus do? If your concept of God serves you, then I am delighted for you. As for my eternal life only God will decide, but if I can help others while I’m here on earth, I will do that

Tom,
I will tell you what God did…he gave Moses the 10 Commandments.
Have you ever lied, stolen, lusted after a woman, or taken the Lord’s name in vain?
If so… you are a liar, a thief, an adulterer in your heart, and a blasphemer. These are not my standards but Gods.
Jesus also pointed out the sin of the woman at the well. And the price we all pay for our sin?
Death. The wages of sin is Death…The Bible also teaches that man is appointed to die once and then be judged.
You have had some wonderful experiences, and I am very glad for you in this respect and you are right…God will decide your eternal fate….How will you do when you stand in front of the judge based on His commandments? You will be found guilty regardless of your good works.
Jesus says in John 15:4, 8 “Neither can you bear fruit inless you remain in me” …” “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
The fruit we are to produce is to glorify the Father, and is proof that we follow Jesus and His teachings in the Bible.
Believing in what Jesus did for us, dying in our place, paying the penalty for your sin and my sin, and that He rose from the dead, is the way to salvation….If we recognize our sinfulness and repent and ask Jesus for forgiveness, He is faithful and will hear your cry and will save you. Salvation…it cannot be earned, it is a free gift.
God bless….

Listen, I am not saying I condone this book, I do not. I just expected ,at least your informatiion to be factual, which it isn’t. It does not teach that forgiveness isn’t required, no, it states the opposite, forgiveness is the only way back to god, not the I am big enough to forgive you type of forgiveness, no, the kind of forgiveness that looks past another’s “sin” and sees an equal in pain and error, extending compassion. Pretty horrific stuff I know. The course also speaks that indeed we are God’s creation, not God itself. Theosopy scares me to be honest especially with all of the links to Freemasonry and the Illuminati, the conspiracy being so blatantly obvious.
One must ask themselves this, If the world is ruled by Satan which is stated in the bible, why would Satan allow the bible to remain pure? Why would the most secretive controlling Order of the world allow the bible go unscathed if it clearly mentions the undeniable victory of their opposition? I must say they are really stupid if it is their intention to steer everyone from god to allow the manifesto of their downfall to be propogated at such an enormous magnitude. I just do not believe that if you simply pledge your belief in Jesus Christ and have the ability to memorize scripture and simply go on living in erroneously, morally imbalanced, materalistic, judgemental mndsets that you will be saved. You are being duped if you believe this. Easy pray for Evil.
I find the hardcore Christian mindset to be very Hateful, prideful, spiteful even. I do not see a just God condemning children who have no awarness that they even have to choose a particular faith. Are they doomed to Hell? The bible says we have one life and then judgement. Gee that’s fair to the kids. I find this immoral. You know what I think? This is all part of a big plan to create war and chaos between billions of people so the New World order can sit back and watch the show from their little bunkers, release a plague or two, bring in their own lttle Messiah, enslave us, have us rebuild the whole world and kill everyone who does not fit their agenda any further.
Meanwhile, we all sit back waiting for them to come because of so called prophecy, hey if it has been prophecized then hey may as well wait for Jesus to bail us out. We wouldn’t be in this mess if we were not so Stupid and selfish and hatefull. But then again deep down many of us are really great people living in a competitive, manipulated and enslaved society already, this is by design, which is quickly becoming common knowledge to anyone who cares to turn off the idiot box and read a little. They have divided us all to conquer us. All we have to do is keep chasing fame or money in these big cities they built up every where (to funnel us in) switch off the water, stop bringing food, turn off everything and watch the show some more. We are helpless to them, most dont even have the know how to survive one night in the wilderness so essentiially we are crippled. We are the Common people, they call us sheep, because they think we are stupid. They are right for the most part, Think this through, critical thinking is CRITiCAL.
Anyway just my two cents.

Jeremy you said…
” It does not teach that forgiveness isn’t required, no, it states the opposite, forgiveness is the only way back to god”
ACIM does talk about forgiveness indeed, and here are some thoughts from the book.
“Forgiveness through the Holy Spirit lies simply in looking beyond error from the beginning and thus keeping it unreal for you….accepting the Atonement for yourself and learning you are guiltless…..everything you once thought sinful now will be reinterpreted as part of heaven…God does not forgive because he has never condemned….”
wow…what strange thoughts.
Sin is unreal and God does not condemn us?
We do sin…we lie, we steal. we lust…all of us. One thing that I think we can agree on is that God is Honest and Just. So if God is just how can he pardon sin and just say you are off the hook, and remain just. He cannot. If you were in court in front of a judge and you committed a crime and he just looked the other way…he would be a crooked judge.
So the only way we are forgiven is to believe that someone else paid the fine for our sin. Jesus paid with his blood because He knows our sin does condemn us. John 14:6 says that Jesus is the only way to the Father.
Satan is the prince of the world and one of the first lies he told was to Eve and it was “Did God really say?” This made her doubt the truth of what God had told her. Today we have some really bad versions of the Bible the worst to date is ” The Message” which is really watered down…but God is good. Those who truly seek Him wil find Him. The good news is that Dead Sea scrolls confirmed that the book of Isaiah is pretty much still word for word truth with minor differences that do not change the meaning. God promised that His Word would endure to the end.
I hear what you are saying….”I just do not believe that if you simply pledge your belief in Jesus Christ and have the ability to memorize scripture and simply go on living in erroneously, morally imbalanced, materalistic, judgemental mndsets that you will be saved.”
Jesus agreed with this…He told Nicodemus a Pharisee who knew the scripture and the law, that one has to be born again of the spirit of God. He uses amazing illustrations to convey that we have to start anew, be transformed, that even a childlike faith will save you. When one is transformed and filled with the Holy Spirit you begin to hate sin, immmoralily, materialism…etc. He knew that just because Nicodemus knew the law…it did not save him.
I love the Word of God and I am terribly lacking but I am growing…Even the most steadfast Christian’s sin. Paul struggled with his sin too. I guess you would call me hardcore… and I am pleased to be so linked with God’s Word. I would not attack you and your beliefs instead I would die for mine. A spirit filled Christian should be walking in humility but at the same time be able to defend his own belief.
As far as children are concerned…I do not think that God will judge a child unable to make a decision. Many call out the Old Testament as barbaric as many were killed in battles. But God warned that peoples were going to be destroyed for their evil, idol worship. They even sacrificed their children to the false Gods in fire.
Jesus is coming back again. He promised He would. This prophecy I do believe. Many foolish people try to predict the day and hour and this cannot be done.
Thank you for taking the time to comment….
