“A Course in Miracles” was written by a spirit entity channeled through a Jewish woman, Helen Schucman. A voice told her that there were mistakes in the Bible that needed to be corrected.
Helen was having strange dreams and was encouraged by a man William Thetford to record them. She was surprised when she wrote the words, “This is a course in miracles.” A voice gave her inner dictation, while Thetford typed out her written words.
This collaboration became what many believe is a way to transform their lives, but truly it is the doctrine of demons which denies sin, elevates self, and promotes many ways to God. It is not biblical even though it uses spiritual sounding phrases.
Bible believing Christians…..hear me! You are going to have to defend your faith by using scripture. Many will be deceived by this movie because it tells them what they want to hear.
Excerpts from http://acourseinmiraclesunleashed.com/
What Is A Course In Miracles?
A Course In Miracles: Mind-Training to Enlightenment
We have eagerly awaited an opportunity to reveal to the world that there is available, right here and now, a mind-training that is A Course in Miracles. It directs us to continuing moments of giving and forgiving of each other, and leads, through a very real physical, mental, and emotional transformation of ourselves, to a recognition that each of us are a Whole part of the Creative Reality of Eternal Life. –Master Teacher
Drawn from the deep recesses of the mind through the wisdom of a moment of inner listening to the Voice for God, is an experience A Course In Miracles calls a “Holy Instant”. It lies past the doctrinal debates of established religion, beyond the conceptual controversy, at the core of every scientific discovery, at the heart of every theology. It is simply a purity of spiritual experience that is the essence of all religion.
What heresy!
Here is a movie trailer “A Course of Miracles Unleashed – A Direct Encounter with Jesus Christ in the Evolution and Enlightenment of the Human Species”
Comments you will hear:
“The vistas…The universe that opens up in front of you.”
“I wake up to myself. It is an amazing thing. We are perfect as an awakened mind. I am perfect and so are you.”
“There isn’t any way to make a mistake…it is impossible.”
The lies in Genesis 3 are ever present today.
That the name of our precious Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ is associated with this trash disgusts me.
1Ti 4:1 | The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. |

Good grief, I knew “A Course in Miracles” was bad news. But I didn’t know it was that bad. What utter New Age, Eastern religion hogwash. That is not even the least bit subtle. Any one that knows the Bible at all will have to utterly deny it and the Jesus it reveals to buy into that. It most certainly is not the experience I have been waiting for!

Cheryl,
The sad part is that people easily buy into it. A relative of mine who I have been trying to reach said the other day,
“Well you know…Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had a child.” The Davini Code easily deceived this person. I suspect ACIM will do the same.

Excellent warning.
The lack of having a repentent heart (7 x 70 daily) is opening people, who call themselves believers, to be more readily available for these deceptions coming our way. Holding on to an offense is very dangerous and not walking in total humilitiy puts us in peril of receiving the opposite of what God has for us.

This is a very personal note about Drs. Thetford and Schucman. During the summer of 1965 I had the privilege of doing an internship under their supervision and have always felt that experience was a highlight in my career. They were both especially kind and helpful to me as their sole intern. What I did not know at the time was that the summer of 1965 was precisely the period in their lives when they were being channeled “The Course in Miracles.”
I mention that because I will forever be grateful for praying parents whose prayers I’m sure were answered in God protecting me from the evil influences which could have destroyed my life that summer.
What many people do not know is that both Drs. Thetford and Schucman died with no indication that the course of their own lives might have ever reflected the real miracle of rebirth through faith in Jesus. Dr. Schucman died Feb. 9, 1981, at age 71 of pancreatic cancer. Dr. Thetford died July 4, 1988 on a short solo walk from his home from which he never returned. He died of a massive heart attack.
I have no idea why God brought our lives together in such an unlikely arrangement. Maybe, just maybe, He spoke to them through my life in ways I am sure I did not articulate myself. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the real course in miracles!

Marsha,
I want to thank you for the information you have shared. It has been written before that their lives were unhappy ones and their relationship very strained.
That there was no indication that their lives were transformed by the true power of the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ is indeed very revealing.
Today… what you wrote, may be the reason why God did bring your lives together. It is evident you know the true Gospel while they did not and that you were indeed protected by prayer..and you have just prevented other lives from being destroyed by what you have written.
God Bless you.

Jesus said study to show yourself approved.
It is written “search the scriptures” and the aim of satan is to deceive the very elect.
This video indicates how deceptive satan is in these last days and why we belivers in JESUS CHRIST need to hold dearly to GOD’s HOLY WORD to defeat and trample underfoot the works of the devil. With the indwelling HOLY SPIRIT we will have the victory. It is written “no weapon fashioned against us will prosper”.
Lets prayer the persons shown in this video will be delivered from this gross deception.
Maybe these deceived persons can go to Gitmo and tell those capture islamic terrorists that their inprisonment is not real, and obsama bin laden cause is not real that they already in their paradise with their 72 virgins.
See how foolish this acim doctrine is..

Did you know that there is many bibles. There is no original writtings. It has been written and rewritten, translated and edited and rewritten again. So, who knows the truth of it. Jesus didn’t actually write the course in Miracles, but guess what?? He didn’t write the bible either.
I learned at a very young age to find my truth within. I know I have a spirit within me that when you go to the father in that silence place as Jesus did, he will give you the peace and the truth that you need in this moment.
“Be still and know that I am God” Is the only thing you really need to know.

The KIng James Version is the most accepted version of the Bible. But the Bible has been verified by the Dead Sea Scrolls. Did you know that the entire book of Isaiah was found, word for word.
Here you will find answers about the Bible.

beth,
You have misconceptions about Jesus. Jesus is the way to Father, the only way, but you have to believe that He died for you, rose again from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of the Father.
He died for you because you are a sinner and only through His shed blood, can you be forgiven. Blood has to be shed for forgiveness. He paid the price for your sin.
The Bible teaches that our hearts are wicked. Our minds are corrupt. This is real truth of what “is within” us. This is why we need Jesus. We steal, lie, and want what we do not have. We think unkind thoughts. We look at someone’s spouse and desire them. All sin.
When we believe that Jesus died for us because of our sin, and we confess our sin to Him, we are forgiven. When we accept and believe, we then receive the Holy Spirit, who helps us understand the Bible, convicts us of sin, comforts us and teaches us. We still will sin, but we come to hate our sin, and seek the Word of God for guidance, and pray for forgiveness.
This is the way of salvation for true peace and everlasting life.
This goes against teachings you will find in new-age books, or books written by fallen spirits, like ACIM, who say sin is an illusion.
You may want to read more here: It is good article about the Gospel.

I am asking all advocates of ACIM to first read the comments from this article before posting here. I thank you kindly for this as many issues have already been dealt with. If not, please ask any questions.

One cannot make up a Jesus of their own liking, this is self-deception. Jesus is God who came in the flesh to save mankind. And He is coming again soon… to judge the living and the dead. There is no sitting on the fence. One must decide. It is an eternal decision.

WHOA!
I jotted down a few of his remarks..
“We have a village idiot in this country its called fundamentalist Christianity”
“Whether its economic news or news from the middle east it all has to do with the end of time and Christs return…this is lala land,”
“There is a fundamentalist subculture which is becoming a cult.”
BTW – I do not think Obama is the AC because most Bible prophecy scholars believe he will be Jewish or Assyrian.

I have been involved with different religions and doctrines in my quest for truth and understanding, including Christanity, Islam, Jehovah Witnesses and more. When I discovered A Course in Miracles I knew I had found the answer to my life long questions.
I do not judge any of my previous religious affiliations because I realized that ultimately we all belong in Christ. I don’t think it is no one’s authorization to steer anyone from following the path that Holy Spirit leads them on. A Course in Miracles has transformed my life in ways that no other form of faith was able to do before. Why would you teach others that they are sinful instead of teaching them that all they need to do is accept salvation and their MISTAKES can be forgiven. Why not teach that God is love and everything He created is created in love, including us (His Soul children). We do belong to Him and not some devil.
Jesus message to the world was Love. Nothing more and nothing less. When we love we help ourselves and others to overcome the obstacles that we have placed before us which causes us to make the mistakes that we make. Perfect love cast out all fear and it is always fear that causes one to make mistakes.
What is the good in teaching that we are all sinners with little or no hope. Who is that inspiring but a demon? We are all brothers in Christ and as Christ Disciples we are ordained to teach and live love in our daily lives. A Course in Miracles has taught me to do this with much love and help from the spiritual realm. A demon do not and cannot love. Where is this deep love that I have for all of my brothers and Our Creator coming from?

I just wanted to add a scripture for my last post. 1 John 3:16
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

Brenda/brenda,
You claim that
“Jesus message to the world was Love. Nothing more and nothing less.”
Then what do you do with this scripture?:
34″Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn
” ‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law –
36a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’ [Matthew 10:34-36 NIV]
And, how about this one?:
43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! [John 8:43-45 NIV]
These are the Words of Jesus Himself. Clearly we are not all God’s children as you state above.
Yes, God is love as you state; but, this is merely one side of a two-sided coin with the other justice. He expects us to live by all his commands as laid out in the totality of the Holy Scriptures. He is faithful and just to reward (with eternal life with Him in heaven) or condemn (to hell where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth) based on our obedience to Him.
October 2, 2009 at 7:17 am
Kim
John 1:12 also teaches that not all are children of God. That all humans are children of God is a new-age misconception.
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to BECOME children of God. [Emphasis mine]
Later in the book of John, we hear the words of John the Baptist who sees Jesus and says in verse 29, “Look the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
A Course in Miracles teaches that there is no sin, so the “Jesus” it teaches is not the Jesus in the Bible. 2 Timothy 4:3 says that men will gather around teachers who say “what their itching ears want to hear.”
Satan deceives with this salve of no sin, and universal atonement. But it is not truth.
Please read the comments from the main article.

There is definitely a difference between ‘children of God’ and human beings. Human beings become or is reborn as Children of God when they overcome the world. To overcome the world is to not be of the world. “I am in the world but not of it.”
I don’t think you understand that there are two thought foundations here. One is of the world and one is not of this world. The whole idea of chaos, devil, sin, is all of the world that Christ was sent to save. Salvation is an individual choice accepted by each one as he/she stop conforming to the world and renews their mind, which means they overcome the world and all of its systems, traditions, belief patterns and structures. Within these systems and structures are duality or two conflicting ways of perceiving a particular thing.
Within duality are two conflicting thoughts; good and evil, up and down, right and wrong etc. Yet, the Spirit of God is one spirit, dissoving all duality. When you began to perceive life and God from the perspective of Love, which God is, you dissolve the disillusions of conflict. The fruits of the spirit are love, joy, faithfulness, gentleness, kindness and peace. There is nothing in the world that can supercede the fruits of the spirit because they are eternal as love is eternal.
The scripture that says “I came not to bring peace but a sword”, has to be misinterpreted because Jesus was not a hypocrite. Don’t forget He is also called the Prince of Peace.
How can He be sent to save the world and to also destroy it with chaos (Lack of Peace). This is perfectly logical but totally insane. The only thing that makes it logical is that it is in the Bible.
From a spiritual perspective, he meant that his coming was going to cause chaos in the world because the Spirit of God in him was going to disturb the world’s structures. We can see this happening now. Although the world is in chaos, in the spirit realm the promise of Heaven coming to earth is happening simultaneously. This is the reason those who have eyes to see and ears to hear have to be joyful.
Satan is no more than a belief accepted by many. It is no different than someone believing they have cancer because a Doctor told them they have cancer and one who believes that no disease can claim their body because they believe that God is love and they are part of that love and protected by It from all weapons formed against them.
Many of the teachings taught in A Course in Miracles I already believed before I discovered the Course. When I was in Christianity I had a really hard time accepting the reality of a devil or satan because this idea painted a picture of a God that I could not accept. A Course in Miracles confirmed what I already knew in my heart and soul even though I had no one to explain what I felt in my spirit. I thank God for ACIM.

Yes, Jesus is coming again as a judge. You do not want to believe the Bible so it has no authority in your life.
God loved the world so much He sent His only Son to save us from our sin and the lies of Satan.
One must be careful of what they know in their hearts because scripture teaches that the heart is wicked.
Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it.”
Yet you choose not to believe this. Your choice will be eternal.
Instead of confessing your sin you are taking the wide and easy road that says, there is no sin. This is the road to destruction and you are on it. Please open your Bible and pray to God that His truth is revealed to you.
The God of Abraham is not the God in ACIM.

Brenda,
The scripture about Jesus bringing a sword is not a misinterpretation. Here are more on the same subject:
12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. [Hebrews 4:12]
The sword is the Word of God and Jesus Himself is the Word [John 1:14] and, hence, He is the sword! Since you’ve quoted the Apostle John, I will quote more:
16Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. [Revelation 2:16]
And, at the end of this age Jesus comes back to judge the world. At that time he will be a mighty warrior rather than the sacrificial Lamb at His first coming:
11I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. [Revelation 19:11-16]
The true Jesus — the one of the Bible — is not one of “love — nothing more, nothing less” as is evident by taking the totality of the scriptures. Ignore them at your own peril!
October 3, 2009 at 6:33 am
Craig Lee
Brenda,
You wrote, “Satan is no more than a belief accepted by many.”
The Bible has quite a bit to say to the contrary:
One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. 7 The LORD said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the LORD, “From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.” [Job 1:6-7]
When Jesus was in the wilderness it was Satan who came to test Him by twisting the Word of God (Matthew 4:1-11; Mark 1:12-13; Luke 4:1-13).
10Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'” [Matthew 4:10]
And, the Apostle John speaks of Satan:
7And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. 9The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. [Revelation 12:7-9]
You wrote, “It is no different than someone believing they have cancer because a Doctor told them they have cancer and one who believes that no disease can claim their body because they believe that God is love and they are part of that love and protected by It from all weapons formed against them.”
There’s the old adage stating there are two things we cannot escape — death and taxes. All will eventually die as we are mere mortals. How do you reconcile the certainty of eventual physical death with your statement above?

I sporatically studied ACIM for 7 years and now believe it’s satanic. I experienced a frightening case of spiritual warfare when I decided to repent from ACIM and leave a New Age church.
Throw the book out.
I never experienced the Holy Spirit studying that garbage. Why read a confusing book from a questionable source to seek the Spirit when all you need to do is pray. It’s sad. How many souls are being mislead, confused and deprived of God’s love??
To think that Oprah is trying to make the book mainstream…frightening.

Amy, thank you for your imput. Yes, we need to pray but also read the Holy Bible from cover to cover.
I too experienced huge opposition when long ago I realized I had been deceived. Satan did not want to let me go, so I had many manifestations at night. But they tapered off and eventually stopped. I clung to the Ephesian 6 verses and repeated them over and over again in the middle of the night.

Thanks Kim, I will be sure to study Ephesians 6. I’ve been fasting and it seems some of the warfare has returned (in my mind).
The oppression I experienced was bizarre. Towards the end of my pregnancy and right after my son was born I had 3 different men sexually harass me. This was at a time when a women is not looking for any male attention whats so ever. Several times while out with my baby I had gholish men approach me. I thought I was out of my mind and went to therapy. My therapist said it was hypervigilance. But this all happened once I decided I would repent……

Amy,
I recommend two books. One is written by Brian Flynn who was involved in the New Age and gave readings to people. His story of how he found Christ is very good.
http://www.amazon.com/Running-Against-Wind-Brian-Flynn/dp/0972151257
Second,
from Lighthouse
Ray Yungen’s “For Many Shall Come in my Name” should be on all Christian’s bookshelves.
http://www.lighthousetrails.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=LTP&Product_Code=FMSC&Category_Code=NA
These two books really helped me. Then of course being in a good Bible teaching church is paramount.
I have many of the books available from Lighthouse Publising.
Blessings to you…. I can be contacted by using the email at the top of my blog.
Be careful of any psychology. The methods are not biblical. Freud was an atheist and Carl Jung was channeling a demon (spirit guide).
